running around stony lee road. We ran repeats of 1.5 miles. My first one was 10:05 which is what my interval pace dad said was supposed to be and sam said that my heart rate should be about 180, so i took the HR moniter from Sam for the next two and ran 9:00 mile and a halfs and could onlt get my HR up to 169 the highest even though i felt like i was running all out...

first course out in the woods at pawtaukaway (?). Hard to run fast in the woods because it was think in some areas and pretty technical but the mosquitos kept you moving and you could not stop unless you wanted to be eaten alive...

Had fun during this race. Ran with Sam most of the time and we make quite a pair and making decisions was sometimes difficult since we had some different views on some things but mostly we were the same at route choice and speed... hard to run away from her :)

usually on runs i just go for as long as i feel like and i was going to go for a shorter run today but i felt pretty good. I felt kinda tired this morning but at breakfast they had chocolate chip pancakes and i really couldn't help myself and they were very good. I think i had about 10... haha. I think their is a direct relation between chocolate in the morning and feeling good during running. I was on such a sugar high on my run that running for a long time seemed really nice and pleasent. I would recommend it. I also did not want to get back to studing my 170 multiple choice Accounting questions I have to memorize... (I hate finals week but chocolate makes it more bearable :) )

Saturday May 5

2x2km. It was pretty windy at today's race and the water as a little choppy. In our first race, we were up against Umass and URI. UMass has basically always win ECACs and URI this year has beaten UMass... So it was a though race but we beat Villanova and were advanced to the grand finals with URI, UMass, Bucknell, Colgate, and Buffulo. We were by far the smallest looking group of girls there. (those URI and UMass girls are huge!) our second race was late in the day but the water was just as bad. The grand finals race was pretty rocky but you could feel the power the team was putting behind thier strokes. We really wanted this race. In the end Bucknell won, then UMass, and then us. I have no idea how we outbeat URI but they went home without a medal for the weekend. I think we surprised a lot of teams. It was an excellent way to end my rowing career with Marist!
