me, sam, and dad went to the Blue Hills for compass training. Me and sam had basically blank pieces of paper with a course on it and we had to use compass and pace count to get to each control.

ran a course at the Blue Hills switching each leg with Sam. We were a little off on three of then but overall I think it went okay.

Did some sprint courses on our own at a park but the map was wrong in one section so it was a little slow.

Sunday Jul 9

I went to the Skyline Trail Race today (my first trail race :) ). there were 57 people there and it was kinda scary starting with so many people. But i quickly got into a good pace after i passed some people in the beginning. Sam was right behind me and caught up to me right before the four big uphills that are towards the end. Then of course she passes me in the last half mile which is downhill and wins (figures). So, i got second female but on the plus side me and Sam (mostly just sam) got course records by over 12 min. for female records (she only beat me by 14sec cuz she is sneakly like that...). In the end she got 8th overall and i was 9th overall. Overall I had fun running.
