cycle 3:00:00 [2] 36.0 mi (5:00 / mi) +338m 4:51 / mi

Not sure on the route or the time but this was roughly it - went on a club ride with Ed road club, but showed up late and ended up going out with their development group - probably best as never ridden in a group but GOD was it slow going. I could've done this ride in 2 hours I'm pretty sure. The hills were all rolling and quite nice, quiet roads. It rained on the way back, then someone else got a puncture and we all stopped about 3 miles from home (!) while it was raining and cold...
Not sure whether i'll bother with this again, just because i'm not even allowed to draft in the triathlon, and it was kind of pointless... came back better hydrated than when i left!

run 1:19:15 [4] 16.61 km (4:46 / km) +155m 4:34 / km
shoes: NB 1220

Tough, windy, hilly route - as hilly as possible in fact, up arthur's seat (well, the road bit), then back down Old Dalkeith and up Dalkeith to gilmerton past infirmary - the toughest bit was running along ferniehill road with the wind and rain in your face - really strong winds again today circa 25mph - may have to get the turbo trainer out. Hills are seeming a lot easier than even a week ago and running 10 miles feels normal again - bodes well, but really must cut down the mileage a bit...

run 1:16:45 [4] 16.58 km (4:38 / km) +134m 4:27 / km
shoes: NB 1220

Really hilly first half - was tough with the wind (and the hills). Not bad time. Toning down the mileage for the rest of the week now so as not to overdo it. Feeling better on the runs now. Still stuck in that 8 min mile pace...

cycle 3:53:21 [4] 54.0 mi (4:19 / mi) +218m 4:16 / mi

OK, so the time is terrible but the forecast 8mph wind was more like 16-20, a constant bludgeoning wind with some strong gusts. Not at all nice. At one point i looked up to the heavens for inspiration... and when i looked back down was on an unavoidable collision course with a big kerb, so i promptly went face first into (fortunately) a big pile of fresh, wet grass clippings. Anyway, after recovering from the embarrassment I continues, only to almost immediately find it really tough going, with 15 miles left i'd completely bonked and was getting cold (no waterproof clothing... oops). When i finally got back i pushed the bike about 5 metres to lock it up and realised the rear brake had been jammed on for the last 18 miles or so, clogged up with nice fresh grass clippings... d'oh!

run 1:15:58 [4] 16.42 km (4:38 / km) +82m 4:31 / km
shoes: NB 1220

Felt tough, legs ached from yesterday, wind was really strong throughout, especially round Duddingston. Happy with the time especially as some parts felt so slow
