run 1:22:30 [3] 10.34 mi (7:59 / mi) +138m 7:40 / mi
shoes: NB 1220

very tired. hilly start with strong headwind and rain. horrible. second half was slow - no energy for speed. walked for 4 mins as felt knee pain near the end. will wait & see on that one... should've done 8 miles.

Note

knee update - no pain but very clunky. Will rest it and stretch more. Hadn't intended to do any more running until Sunday or Monday. For now a 30-35 mile week will be fine as base training, 35 will be the limit for the next 2 weeks, then a gradual, 10% per week increase to 50. Tomorrow will try and swim, then Saturday is big cycle and Sunday most likely a rest day...

cycle (fartlek) 2:00:00 [5] 37.0 mi (3:15 / mi)

Weather wouldn't decide what it was doing, it was hot but all forcasts said heavy rain... which eventually came but fortunately i opted for indoors at the gym. Kept a tempo of 30KPH which came down a bit by the end but for every 5 mins, 30 seconds was hard effort (35-37KPH) - not max effort, but by the end i was almost crying haha.
The distance I'm not positive as the machine has a time out of 40 mins so it was 3 sessions, one after the other (no rest). Heart rate maxed at about 177 and maintained about 155-160 for most of the session.
Considering legs were quite tired it was a good session -should do at least one a week of these

run 1:20:17 [4] 10.34 mi (7:46 / mi) +138m 7:27 / mi
shoes: NB 1220

So this was a recovery run and it felt like insanely hard work despite having a 10th of the climb of sundays run... maybe that's why. calves are tight and quite a few other aches. Think 8 miles would've been more than enough!

cycle 3:55:00 [3] 58.0 mi (4:03 / mi) +305m 3:59 / mi

Not sure why this took so long?! there was a bit of confusion at one point trying to find a shop and doubling back twice (quadrupling back?). Also it was pissing with rain and quite slippy/oily. Also my legs were probably quite dead from yesterday. Those three combined apparently added 35 mins to my time haha. oh well.
