Pre-ride and warm-up. Course was in opposite direction and very wet given all of the rain during the night.

Exact same starting spot but a better result, 6th into the woods (1095 W for first 9 seconds). From there it was a hectic 2 laps until things spread out. I made a pass back into 8th on lap 4 but couldn't put a gap on him and he got me back on the final straight, finishing 9th.
Another very muddy day to add to the collection this year. Next stop Louisville!

2 easy laps on the course when I arrived then a warm-up prior to the race and a warm-down afterwards.

Started 2nd row on the far outside relative to the first turn. Had a decent start and made up a lot of ground as the field compressed on the inside of the turn. This course was full of exposed roots so traveling in a pack was interesting as you never knew what you'd be running over.

Once things settled out at the end of lap one I was in 12th with a pack of 5 just ahead. While following another rider around someone struggling on a short, steep climb I nailed an exposed root I didn't see and punctured my front tire. Fortunately it was relatively close to the pit so I rode it there and swapped out to my spare bike so no data after that point given that my watch was on the original bike still. From the splits it looks like I dropped about 35 sec with the exchange.

The remaining 3 laps were a flurry of passes including 3 in the last lap sprint to the line, finishing in 14th.
