Orienteering race 1:07:43 [4] * 8.0 km (8:28 / km)
spiked:13/13c

CATI that the garingal juniors were organising. i did the first run of day day on the long orange 2 see if the controls were placed correctly. no issues there or in my navigation, just i hated the huge amount of climb in my course (Huon...). u go up the 5+ contour hill, then back down. then up, then down. u get the idea.

not 2 sure on distance

Orienteering race 10:07 [5] * 2.3 km (4:24 / km)
spiked:18/18c

epic race on the green between me, huon, michele, chris and dan. the interesting extras (eg. the maze) on the course made it very fun.

Running race (50m sprint) 7 [5] 0.05 km (2:20 / km)

more fitness testing 2day, got 6.6 4 this run. top time was 5.25, but we think the timing was a bit dodgy

Running race (Shuttle Run) 17 [5] 0.06 km (4:43 / km)

agility test, got 16.8. top was 15.61. not sure on the distance

Monday Oct 19, 2009 #

Orienteering race 1:06:41 [4] **** 6.6 km (10:06 / km) +275m 8:22 / km
spiked:18/19c

had another good run, despite the weather being the opposite of what it was on wednesday. it was about 33 degrees and sunny! i dont think i believe the clock at start though, it said it was 50 degrees...

no major mistakes, once again just felt slow.

Thursday Oct 15, 2009 #

Orienteering race 1:03:01 [4] *** 6.4 km (9:51 / km) +225m 8:22 / km
spiked:15/15c

had very clean run, wasnt as fast as i was at aus champs though. the weather was a bit better 2day, at about 18 degrees, no wind and minimal rain.

Wednesday Oct 14, 2009 #

Orienteering race 1:09:38 [3] **** 6.2 km (11:14 / km) +225m 9:30 / km
spiked:15/17c

cold, wet and windy. grrr.

was a good course, bit steep 2wards the end but i liked it. was really slow, but all the same i think i did well fininshing given the weather (i think it was about 6 degrees, but it felt like 0).

Saturday Oct 10, 2009 #

Note

masters sprint qualifications. helped on the start, due 2 a shortage of staff i had 2 stay on 4 the full hour and 44 min.

Friday Oct 9, 2009 #

Orienteering race 19:57 [4] 3.2 km (6:14 / km)

masters warm up event. did well was just a bit off the pace (huon beat me by 1min and 1sec). there was an interesting pivot control. we went through three times. many people were confused by the 6 lines connecting 2 it.

Running Training (Sand dunes) 2:00:00 [5]

sand dunes with chris fuller. smashed my PB for the sprint by 2.5 seconds, brought it down 2 19.72.

a 12 year old girl there was saying she liked the sound of orienteering and wanted 2 try it. apparently she runs sub 5min 4 the 1500m

Note

helped 2 run one of those holiday activity days 4 kids aged 9-12. our station was orienteering. it was quite funny watching them argue,
"its this way!"
"No its that way!" (pointing in the opposite direction)

Note

received a text from my coach saying:
great work last week. sand dune training, 2morrow 8.30.

grrrrrrrr.
