Dalgan Park.
Picked the map up at the start and there was loads of controls but no lines, so I was like "Oh, they changed it to a score". Proceeded to run around all the controls and when I downloaded it turned out I had DNF'd. Apparently you were meant to run in order of the numbers but they didn't put the lines in because it was too confusing. What a crock of shit! But it looks like what i did was much more enjoyable. Straight line distance was 7.4km so all the running around would maybe have been 10km around the blandest area and the most boring course. Poor.

O-intervals in Belfield. Planned three short courses~2km with a jog recovery in between. Ran well on the first and second one but sustained a pain on the third at the back of my knee so jogged the rest. It's the shoes, I got this pain last week aswell when running fast in these old Asics. Getting new Asics and O-shoes on Saturday thank god. Wasn't running very fast because the rain was horrible.

Grass/Road warm up/down 8:30 [1] 1.19 km (7:09 / km)

O-training in Three Rock. Not running fast just focusing on hitting the controls and getting the best routes. Made 3 mistakes but only adding to maybe 1minute. Really enjoyed this and good technical training.

Day 3 5.6km.
Started strong to catch the Swede and caught him at 2. Took different routes to 3 and I got to the area maybe a minute before him. Was looking in some unmapped crags so he caught back up. Went a bit off line to 4 so lost about 30seconds. Opened a big gap to 5 running well and spiked it perfectly. Suffered up to 6 but got it good. Good to 7. Decided to go around the big marsh to 8 but went way too far right so lost maybe a minute. Stopped too short to 9 so lost another minute there. Good to 10. Went way off line to 11 so the Swede got ahead after catching up at 9. Took a better micro route choice to 12 but it was in the wrong place too far around the hill in the boulder cluster but didn't lose any time. Took a better route to 13 so got about 30 seconds on him here. Road to 14 but there was another control close to my one so lost a couple of seconds checking it. To the finish.
Gained 6mins on Aonghus today because he had a bad day, still didn't catch him.
Need to use my compass more and be more aggressive in the control circle. Enjoyed the weekend a lot.
