WOC Spectator Long (ish) - actually ran today :)
It was absolutely tipping it down and cold and grim but I had the time of my life. Today just made me remember why I love orienteering. The forest was beaut and the course was good fun. Decided to bomb it straight on every leg even if there was an obvious easier route (didn't come to Norway to follow a stream). Only 2 tiny nav slips on 3 & 9 where I just swung right at the last minute and missed the controls by 20m and 1 directional error where I drifted left on the way to 6. The rest was pretty spotless. It felt like everything I've learned this summer has fallen into place.
Had such a class time and a decent result too, 2 mins off a top 20, and I beat Rebecca by 10 mins :)
Metatarsal was really quite uncomfortable throughout but it's very similar to the last time it flared back in march so hopefully this one will heal quick too!
BOTH ANKLES STILL IN TACT!!https://photos.app.goo.gl/cRKq7gd6qd67XUg98
