A surprising addition to my IOC results for 2017, wasn't expecting to do this well, have not run fast in months. So can take some positives from that.

Despite missing out on the win by only 4 seconds, I have no regrets over anything I did during the race, a few seconds the other way it would have been off the podium completely. It probably ranks among my personal top 3 2nd places!

In the start box I had a few options worked out for the 1st control, and had planned to go left if it was the tree that the control was actually on. Took a few seconds to get the right side of the map turned and locate triangle but had that done before I got to the steps out of the start tunnel.

Happy enough with first few controls, maybe could have been more direct to 2 but was not too bad. Then into the park for a few controls. Bit messy getting out of 5 and then went right to 7.

Leaving the park it was on to the other side of the map. No issues with `0 through to 16, maybe 13 had the L/R option, I went left, and then right to 16. Up the ramps leaving 16 too.

Saw Hugh in front of me going to 17, I chose the left option. Went for the more direct road running and had planned to worry about control location once closer to the control. Hugh distracted my plan of attack though heading for an earlier set of steps, so a few seconds lost here.

19 I sort of took a chance on climbing the stairs, wasn't certain off my description reading. Did take the right option when left would have been better I think. Also was probably a bit hesitant to 20 at times. But no real issues with the last few controls apart from getting tired.
