Wonder how much progression i'll make this week, went backwards last week despite increased rest between runs, so don't want to do that again.

Monday - Running
Tuesday - Turbo Trainer
Wednesday - Running
Thursday - Circuits
Friday - Turbo Trainer
Saturday - Running
Sunday - ? (National Novices are on but got no text from the Club Secretary but considering my condition I won't be texting them)

Also have requested a physio appointment so will see if she gets back to me, and if that happens then it will impact on the plan.

Another damp day! One new tree down on the path close to the entrance, plus smaller branch debris.

So after a bad run on Friday was hoping for a bit better this evening and got that. Pretty happy with how it went. Decided to run a bit faster this evening, or at least put some more effort in, running slowly wasn't working. See what happens, worst was more pain.

The 1st lap was a similar pace to Friday morning, and would've been harder this evening in the dark, but on the big track for the 2nd and 3rd laps (shorter than the 1st) I was running 5.35 min/km.

Got physio tomorrow too so that's good.

Stopped on my own terms too, not on the knee's terms. The last even shorter lap the knee was making its presence felt but not painful.

35 in total, that's the longest run in a month!

Storm Clodagh looked fun this morning looking out the window at it. Suppose on days like this I can be glad of an excuse not to run outdoors but think at this stage I would run in any conditions just to get out on my terms and not on those of my knee.

After yesterdays horrific attempt at training things went better this evening. Decided Irelands Fittest Family worked well to cycle to a couple of weeks ago so timed it to do the session for that. And worked grand.

Eliminator they said was toughest they've had, longest maybe, nothing could be as tough as that bog in Connemara.

No, 5 minutes on the turbo is not a mistake, not sure what happened but body did not want to co-operate and do a session. Was hoping to do 40. Stopped after 4 minutes, gave myself a few minutes, then tried again, but could not get going.

Depressing.

Might have something to do with last few days and being tired as a result. Can't explain it otherwise. No kick.

Early start to get a run in before heading to Cork later on and house stuff this morning. Was actually much warmer at 8 than it was at 3 in Cork, got bitter.

Wanted to do at least 30 again but only managed 20, stopped to stretch quad after 1st lap, and then ran another minute before deciding no point as it was too sore.

So not a good day at the office.

Note

Spent a few hours in cork shopping this afternoon, but didn't buy anything, unlike Mary! Although I think signing contract for new house before lunch trumps the handbag she bought. Getting keys by Christmas might be a push but won't be long now.

Workshop/seminar on Dublin, interesting enough, about LCA and the NLS.

Then drove back to Killarney for Wine & Art night in the Malton. Plenty of cake on offer, but settled for a few fists of cheese.

slept:6.5 (rest day)

Drove to Dublin after work so no training. Of course I brought my foam roller with me. Parked at the Red Cow Luas and had the idea of running into town from there, but decided that wouldn't be a good idea for a few reasons, carrying gear being 1 but knee being the main issue. A couple of days off will do no harm.

Game of Thrones S05E

Saw a spoiler on facebook, not impressed! But will continue in the knowledge that I won't be totally shocked when whatever happens does happen.

Knee noticeable today but not unusually so, similar to recent days after a run. Just need to keep stretching.

Turbo wasn't that difficult. But 2rpm lower than last couple of spins. Need to concentrate more, the graph shows a drop of around 2 minutes from 17-19 minutes where it went to around 90. Also slow on the build up, took around 3 minutes to get over 90, so warm up I suppose before then.

Left work at 4, need to lose time off the clock.
