Finished off the episode of Narcos (S1 E6) from Friday.

Spent the morning directing cars to parking at K-Cross. Had to deal with a lot of people going to the cross country in Beaufort who got distracted by the sign to K-Cross! Luckily I was familiar with the location of that race and also aware that it was on.

A surprising addition to my IOC results for 2017, wasn't expecting to do this well, have not run fast in months. So can take some positives from that.

Despite missing out on the win by only 4 seconds, I have no regrets over anything I did during the race, a few seconds the other way it would have been off the podium completely. It probably ranks among my personal top 3 2nd places!

In the start box I had a few options worked out for the 1st control, and had planned to go left if it was the tree that the control was actually on. Took a few seconds to get the right side of the map turned and locate triangle but had that done before I got to the steps out of the start tunnel.

Happy enough with first few controls, maybe could have been more direct to 2 but was not too bad. Then into the park for a few controls. Bit messy getting out of 5 and then went right to 7.

Leaving the park it was on to the other side of the map. No issues with `0 through to 16, maybe 13 had the L/R option, I went left, and then right to 16. Up the ramps leaving 16 too.

Saw Hugh in front of me going to 17, I chose the left option. Went for the more direct road running and had planned to worry about control location once closer to the control. Hugh distracted my plan of attack though heading for an earlier set of steps, so a few seconds lost here.

19 I sort of took a chance on climbing the stairs, wasn't certain off my description reading. Did take the right option when left would have been better I think. Also was probably a bit hesitant to 20 at times. But no real issues with the last few controls apart from getting tired.

Warm down with Hugh, josh & Jens.
Legs feeling fine, tired after a hard run, but nothing else.

Started some Narcos but after 20 minutes it stopped, must have been an issue with the download.

Watched a couple of YouTube videos including Road Bike Party 3, for inspiration for my next ride.

(rest day)

Took it handy today.

Ate a bit of cheese at the wine & art. Thought about bidding on some art in the auction, sounded like a good investment opportunity, but was warned against it. Also had to ensure that one of Mary's friends stopped using arm gestures when in conversation during the auction in case it was construed as a bid.

GOT S07 E04

Back to pre injury resistance and very happy with how this spin went. Even happy with the slight left hamstring cramp getting my leg back over the bike finishing up.

Reckon I might rest tomorrow instead of Friday, less pressure to get to wine & art.

Plenty of steps counted today too on the watch walking around Listowel for the morning.

Cold evening which was nice. Frost on the ground too.
Was quiet in the national park, only saw deer and a bunny rabbit bounding away from me by the school house.

Legs felt alright, back to being concerned about the Achilles/calf combo now that the quad is nearly better, although could feel it a small bit. Wasn't sure if I'd do a shorter loop but ended up doing the usual route.

Road between Muckross House and Torc is currently closed, a thick layer of new tar is being put down, had a couple of hundred metres of it behind the barriers of the road closed.

Home then to make an apple, sultana & data crumble, served with custard of course. Tasty. Not so sure if my actual dinner was tasty, made "Maize Couscous" to go with last night leftover thai red curry. I was hungry so ate it but didn't really taste of much.

This week might be a bit more normal, should be able to train 100%.
Munster intermediate cross country are on in Kerry on Sunday, but don't fancy running, will have had the orienteering on Saturday and my legs in their current condition would not like 2 fast days in a row, 1 is probably even too much at the moment.

Monday - Turbo Trainer
Tuesday - Running
Wednesday - Turbo Trainer
Thursday - Running
Friday - Rest
Saturday - Orienteering (IOC Sprint in Dublin)
Sunday - Bike

Not sure i'll go to circuits this week, missed last 2 weeks and will miss them again next week, so probably not worth the money. Also got wine & art this Thursday night to complicate matters further.

Narcos S01 E05

Cadence I think wasn't working properly for this but would have been up on last week on the same gear. Didn't go back down to the tough one as giving leg a bit of a chance. Will change next time around.
