Muckross
Just running in the woods

Bike was the plan for this morning but weather was cold so didn’t fancy bike or going on the turbo. Just wasn’t in the mood, think I didn’t sleep great and was up early. Reckoned I had to do something even if it was not much. So went and did something I enjoy.

Legs feeling a bit tired today but not sore. It’ll be 3 days running in a row tomorrow.

Long loop from the car park

Wasn't sure i'd get out this evening with Storm Hannah arriving and a red wind warning from 6. Left the office a few minutes earlier than planned to make sure i'd be back home around 6. I felt despite being in a forest for a good bit of this run that due to the wind direction it would be sheltered. I was proved right about that, valley was calm, but both hill tops which are exposed were windy. Think i'd a tail wind up the wall.

Legs not feeling too bad again but they did feel a bit tired later in the run. Quads a bit achey with the downhills but not painful. Both ankles rolled a small bit at different times but no damage done. Not taped.

Glad to get some climbing done but not fit up the climbs. Put most effort into the climb up from the river on the way back.

Dinis + parkrun lap as an extra
More or less the same as last Monday

Some rain in Tralee leaving work, showers, and some grey clouds going so decided on MTB rather than the road. Weather actually turned out to be nice in the end, Storm Hannah forecast for tomorrow so running tomorrow evening could be interesting. Based on HR it's not like i'm missing out on this bike, would be similar to being on the road so am getting a workout. I must actually weigh the bike to see how much of a donkey the thing is.

Saw a dog (wearing a cone of shame) pulling a girl on a skateboard. Interesting mode of transport!

Quiet enough around Dinis, the screech of the bike's brakes only had to scare a few people out of the way.

Legs actually felt good this evening so happy with the lack of pain. Plenty of work stress in my head, training just gives me time to think more about it, should probably train harder, that'll mean no chance to think while running!

Plenty of tourists around.

Weather not as nice as the Easter weekend, some wind, but no rain.

Note
(rest day)

Rest day as planned, not feeling too tired though. Day didn't quite go to plan, had some stuff that we wanted to do with Erik for his birthday but a high temperature mid morning meant a quieter day.

Also got the septic tank emptied.

These are not easy to put together!

Muckross Lake

Went after the party shopping rather than before, good choice as meant it was warmer when I did go out. Bit windy though.

Enjoyed this spin on the donkey of a MTB. Good to mix things up. Plenty of people walking but no close calls. One bike coming against me which was as always entertaining!

Note

Bit more of a plan for this week. Feeling alright after yesterday too, was concerned that my quads/calves would be feeling the affects of running up and down Claragh Mountain yesterday.

Monday - Bike
Tuesday - Rest (Erik's 1st Birthday, that was a quick year)
Wednesday - Run
Thursday - Bike
Friday - Run
Saturday - Bike
Sunday - Orienteering (Ross Island)
