Cycling (MTB) 9:53 [3] 4.03 km (2:27 / km) +48m 2:19 / km

From home over to Torc for Junior Squad Training. Lovely morning.

Orienteering 17:00 [2] *** 1.83 km (9:17 / km) +30m 8:34 / km
ahr:148 max:168 10c shoes: Salomon Speedcross 4

Accuracy
Some controls there, others misplaced and others not at all. Bit unsure I was in the right place for the 1st but ok after that. Too high coming into the last one too.

At least calf held out.

Cycling (MTB) 57:44 [3] 10.46 km (5:31 / km) +138m 5:11 / km
ahr:141 max:170 7c

Bike over to Bluepool, parked up and out out 7 controls at varying pace. Some running to start and getting back to the bike. Then cycled back to assembly area with Dave for a bit and the last bit on my own. Cycled home after that.

Could have done without the jacket in the end.

Kissanes-Kilgobnet-Beaufort

Not sure if i'll suffer after this due to lack of sleep last night. Think everyone else slept, just me having issues! Calf feeling fine pedalling.

Happy with this spin though. Felt like i'd a good temp on on the drag up to Kissanes from Dunloe but think there was a tailwind. Reflected in the Strava segments on that section, up on this year. Definitely some tiredness towards the end but not desperately so.

Lovely morning for a spin, sun shining with the Reeks looking spectacular. Bit on the cool side. Good day to be out.

Walking 1:05:21 [3] 5.42 km (12:03 / km) +32m 11:42 / km
ahr:103 max:143 shoes: New Balance 890 v6

From Park Road with Erik into town via a few shops while Mary was at baby sensory class with Oscar.

He didn’t sleep.

Cold lingering for another night I’d say.

Walking 45:52 [2] 3.47 km (13:12 / km) +10m 13:00 / km
ahr:91 max:129 shoes: New Balance 890 v6

From town in the direction of home. Trying to get Erik to have a nap. Successful on the nap front but 20 minutes is only partial success. Got damp too.

Was wondering what the smell was in the kitchen this afternoon. Realised it was gas!!!
Erik said Oscar was at the knobs...

Note
(rest day)

No chance today. Did have a late morning nap again. Sleepiness level increasing. Also have a slight cold, nothing too bad though.

Physio 1:00:00 [0]

This was fun.
Deep in the soleus muscle, no surprise. Will take it easy for a few days and stretch it.

Got a few jobs done in Tralee too like getting my recent emergency dental work checked, no issues there.

#paternityleave
Breastfeeding group this morning but despite father’s being welcome I thought I’d give it a miss.

Bit damp this morning, showery, so went for the MTB. Dirt seemed to be sticking to my fingers, probably due to the glue that might have been left on my fingers after I went fixing a couple of fridge magnets that ‘fell’ of the fridge.

I suppose the plan for this month isn’t to train hard as body will be running on reserves, just a matter of getting out when I can. Sleep is being impacted on 2 fronts now.

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Taking it easy at home today. Calf not feeling too bad and will get some physio on Tuesday.

When putting Erik down for a nap before lunch I managed to have a nap of my own! Don’t have them too often during the day. Erik behaved himself last night but Oscar was less settled so maybe recovering from that.
