Upper Torc
Munster League (I think that's 5 events done too for the league)

Fastest for first few legs up the hill and clear winner to 4 as everyone else on the course MP'd on 4! I was wondering after I left the control if it was working as there was a very long beeeeep from the unit, but my SI Air beeped/flashed. Had concerns over 7 as it took ages to beep. There's waking a unit up, but this one must have been in a very deep sleep.

Found the course very physical, or at least the start of it was tough with the climb and undergrowth. Running was hard. Downhill before crossing the road to 4 was the toughest. After that it improved. Until the 2nd last control, but used the road here. Course went below the Torc road too for a change. Had a lot of controls planned in advance, local knowledge definitely helped.

Hamstrings started to struggle from around 19 onwards, definitely hurting by 21. Didn't end up having to stop, but could have put more into the terrain parts towards the end. A few other knocks, including one to a big toe! Ankles suffering too, weak.

Lost 12 seconds to Brian on 6, maybe I took too long getting out to the road but didn't think I got it too badly, slightly overshot but not by much.

Lost 36 seconds to Liam on 16 so probably closer to a minute lost in reality. Hit a depression and thought it was mine, didn't see the correct one slightly higher to the left. Went right a bit to check and then came back.

Lost over a minute to Jens on 22. Map is dodge but should have done better since I was in the yellow below it and should have copped on, knew I was low.

Lost 21 seconds to Liam to 23, this was more physical than orienteering. Having problems for a few controls fighting off cramping hamstrings.

Around 10 seconds lost on the last control and to the finish too. Again body was suffering.

Breaking Bad S02 E013

Avg Cadence = 99rpm

After a couple of the lads talking about Breaking Bad I decided it was time to get back into it myself. Only reason I stopped watching it was that I didn't have it on the laptop, had a legal DVD, which doesn't work on the laptop.

Waking up this morning I wasn't sure i'd get anything done, legs felt tired. Also a dodgy night sleep as Erik still hasn't recovered from whatever bug he caught.

Looking forward to some orienteering tomorrow.

Fossa

Pissing rain so headed for Fossa hoping for some shelter in the trees. Some parts were wetter than others.

Legs I was happy with. Had a few faster kilometres towards the end but that started after a chap started his run at Lackabane with his dog. He took off very sharply and I let him go. His pace after turning into the golf course looked slower. I think I ran faster as a result and then didn’t adjust my pace lower. No ill effects from it so worked out ok.

Not sure what the plan is for tomorrow with the rugby at 9 and kitchen shopping at 1.

Note
(rest day)

Up at 5 as Erik had a tummy bug so by the time it came to training I was wrecked so gave it a skip. Shite evening anyway so worked out for the best. Even if I wasn't tired I may have skipped anyway as it wouldn't have been good for my head to run this evening, didn't want to be thinking.

Luke Cage S02 E01

Avg Cadence = 95rpm

Back to the turbo trainer since winter has arrived. Must think about winter viewing options, might leave GOT for a few weeks or a weekend as the last series I understand has longer episodes.

Got through this not too badly. Everything worked. Really do need to tidy the training room.

Golf Course & Knockreer

Went for this route as with the hour change the golfers are gone so chance of being hit by a stray or not stray ball are significantly reduced.

But more distance than Sunday and slightly faster pace. Calves ok with it. Plan at the moment is to run and hope they survive.

After bacon & cabbage I went home and made pumpkin soup from the flesh I got out of the pumpkin I carved last night.

More walking around town later and to the playground.

Plan for the week:

Tuesday - Run
Wednesday - Turbo
Thursday - Run
Friday - Turbo
Saturday - Bike
Sunday - Orienteering

Will see how that works.
