(rest day)

Legs feeling grand today after yesterday but training wasn't on the cards with some family stuff to do.

1st family outing in the new car. Plenty of space in the boot :-)

Definitely feel like I need to get fitter, this was tough.

Started ok and ended up in 3rd place after the start. Got a gap to the next group soon enough. 1st pulled away but 2nd I was behind until the start of the 2nd lap. At this stage I was feeling the pace and was checking over my shoulder often.

There was a touch headwind from the start up to Killarney House which I really didn’t like. 2nd time up was tough as was the 3rd, that was worse. Last time was ok as had a bit of people dodging to distract me.

Did scare 2 people on the 2nd lap as I went through the large gap between them. A couple of volunteers smiled at it, I smiled, but not sure the chap being passed did.

Got to the finish eventually and made the podium. Will need work to get higher as need to find at least a minute. A few weeks of uninterrupted training would help. Arms also felt tired pushing the buggy, I suppose Erik gets heavier every week. A few people again asked if they could get a push.

Despite the pain it was a PB with the buggy. Set virtual partner to 4 min/km.

Luke Cage S02 E03

Slightly longer episode this evening. Worked out ok as Mary was stuck in traffic coming home.

Think I’ll probably run with Erik in the morning if we don’t sleep in...

Will need to run off the Toy Show snacks.

Note

VRT appointment with the new car so that was an expensive but cheaper than expected evening :-)
1st KY reg!

Legs feeling fine but small bit tired in general. Got more sleep last night than the night before.

After last couple of weeks a couple of days in a row is probably not a bad thing, let the body recover.

Golf course & Knockreer

Not a bad evening for a run. Tired after work as bad night of sleep. So taking a risk training. Will see how it goes. Rest tomorrow so might be ok.

Legs feeling ok but they have had plenty of rest recently so any niggles had a break.

Fire alarm went off just after tea today. Painter set it off. Alarm doesn’t stop until the fire brigade come. After about 20 minutes heard sirens and a fire engine went flying past. Waited another 5 minutes for another to actually arrive. The one that drove by was out training and due to a power cut at the fire station this morning there were communication issues. You couldn’t make it up.

Breaking Bad S03 E01

Bit slow to get going this evening as had a helper who wanted a ‘hat’ from my training room, i.e. a cycling helmet. The same chap was trying on my HR strap while I was in the shower afterwards. Putting the strap in his mouth too might not have been the cleanest of ideas. But good to have him interested. At 19 months he’s also showing more skills with a football than the Senior Squad did after the Norway selection races this year!
