Lap of Muckross Lake + more

Started out with same route as last weekend and added some more. Felt like I might run into trouble today and I did, lake had flooded the road in places. So waded through them. Definitely will have affected the pace of a few kilometres. Probably 5 or 6 sections of wading. Deepest part was above the knee, with average depth of upper calf for the others.
The water was freezing. Actually good mental training to keep moving in the water.

Legs weren’t too bad. Although they froze after being submerged in the water. Was wondering if this run followed by ‘ice’ therapy would have a negative affect.

Extra bit to the route was up the road to Torc. Add some climb and get the run over the hour. Shortly after leaving the main road there was a big fallen tree across the road. I’d to detour around it but the car on the Torc side of it is stuck until the tree is removed!

Torc Waterfall looking impressive.

Note
(rest day)

Did very little today. Body happy to be resting. Storm Dennis delivered a lot of rain this morning so staying indoors was a good idea. Afternoon was a small bit better.

Vikings S06 E05

Feeling tired on the way home but got on the bike. Got over the tiredness when actually pedalling. So went ok.

Think I’ll I might take tomorrow off. Sleep has improved the last few nights but it’s nowhere near what it needs to be. So give the body a chance to recover a small bit. With Storm Dennis forecast it’s probably not a bad idea, plenty of rain coming. Less rain/wind Sunday so run then.

Ballyseedy
Checking out the map and the course I’ve planned for March 7th event I’m organising for Kerry Cubs.

Nice evening so took the opportunity between storms to do this job. Met a couple of lads running, including a chap I followed in from where I parked. Eventually passed him out. Didn’t see him again. Legs ok I suppose but right calf doesn’t feel perfect. I put 1 layer of tape on left ankle and no issues with it.

Few stops and starts to make a few minor map alterations. Control sites obvious enough, just want to tweak a couple of paths/features like the tree that’s blocking one of the paths.

Was putting Erik to bed later when he vomited all over me (it’s normally Mary he gets). Not sure what caused it but he did get sick yesterday at breakfast too, possible bug or he is teething at the moment. As a result of my clothes being ruined and Oscar asleep in our bedroom I basically was cleaning sick up (discovered he’d chips for lunch) with very little on.
Happy Valentines Day Mary!!!
I did find some clean clothes shortly after.

Breaking Bad S03 E07

Not too bad but needed to try and clear my head of other things before starting off to improve focus. Parts of this went quicker than others. Not the nicest of evenings so being indoors on the bike was better than getting cold and wet.

Legs feeling better today than yesterday, think there was some soreness lingering yesterday after the physio on Monday.

Golf Course

Got wet to start off and then hailstones near the end. Kind of preferred the hailstones, they were just annoying. Especially whe one got stuck in the heel of my shoe, melted I assume so didn’t bother me for too long. Cold too. Quiet on the paths too, less people out than usual.

Right calf I could feel at times but not too bad. It gets a rest from running tomorrow anyways.

Wasn’t sure if I’d feel up to running this evening but less tired this evening than yesterday.

Note

Think lack of sleep could be starting to catch up with me so thankful that today is a no training day. Made a plan for the week but will see how this evening goes first as that may impact on what I can do later in the week.

Monday - Rest (Physio)
Tuesday - Run
Wednesday - Bike
Thursday - Run
Friday - Bike
Saturday - Run
Sunday - Run

Physio 1:00:00 [0]

Went fine. My legs have been worse. Calves got a good look at, even some marks on them afterwards!
Personally I think it was better to go now rather than a week or two with an actual problem.

Found a packet of rashers in the fridge that were out of date today when making the dinner, so bonus meat for dinner and lunch tomorrow.
