Muckross

With Erik in the buggy, has been ages since I did this on a Sunday. Nice morning for it. Before breakfast for me, not really an issue for Erik as he’d his usual 2 bites of toast before we left.

Plenty of ducks, cows and deer to entertain.

Only half way through before the usual where’s Daddy’s car question came up.

Legs felt ok, was expecting right Achilles trouble but it was fine.
Was tempted to run for longer but didn’t want to upset Erik when he saw the car park and knew where Daddy’s car was then, or lu legs.

HR data i'd say is rubbish as going up the small path to Mangerton road it was 140 on the watch, it didn't feel like 140.

The road up to Torc was closed so that thew me. I'd an idea of a route, still did that route but not the way i'd intended. I'll blame a serious lack of sleep last night on the brain not being able to figure out what I wanted to do from a different starting point.

Legs better than expected. Weather ok too.

Note
(rest day)

With work and other things i'd to do today training didn't really fit into the picture which is fine. I think given the last couple of weeks that every other day for a few sessions will help with recovery/reduce chance of being sick again.

Hopefully this wasn't a bad idea.

Got home before the rain.

Random run in Muckross. Could feel something between right achilles and calf, not that painful but not ideal.

Coming back I went in the track on the other side of the road, the path used to be defined and it's been a long time since I used it as it's sort of a dead end. The path disappeared very quickly. Cut across a ridge of limestone, running not too bad, and then back out near the Abbey.

Note
(rest day)

Felt tired last night and didn't think I was feeling great when I woke up but ok a couple of hours later. Definitely no exercise today.

Note
(rest day)

I think yesterday may been an overreaction. Was improved yesterday evening and feeling ok this morning. Don't think i'm perfect but thought it'd be another week of idleness yesterday.

So hopefully maybe some training on Wednesday. Not sure about Thursday.
And then the weekend there is orienteering on Sunday.

Talk of going to Level 5. That comes with a 5km exercise restriction. I stuck to my 2km/5km zones during Lockdown 1 but not sure i'd be in the same hurry to do so if we do in Kerry jump from Level 2 to 5. That being said I don't think I won't need to go outside often, just for cycling, given the running options within 5km.
