Trails warm up/down 4 [2] 0.5 km (8 / km)
ahr:129 max:138 shoes: Salomon Speedcross 4

Token warm up, on a warm day.

Orienteering race 46:16 [5] ***** 7.99 km (5:47 / km)

Rossbeigh Sand Dunes

Actually ran hard enough I think for no real reason apart from I could!
Not putting the results link in, only myself on the Brown. My time was about 20 minutes faster than the winners on Blue & Green.

No major mistakes but some small misses/hesitations. And maybe route choice to 21 I should have gone right. Did feel more hesitant around the start/finish area, 22 and 23 I don't think I was great on.

Lovely day for a run in the sand dunes, hot though.

The grass was hard going in places. Knew 20 was going to be a pain in the hole as a long run in through the grass. Also 8 wasn't too easy either. Other places there were some paths/grass to help minimise amount of time dodging maram. Good workout though.
12 PM

Trails warm up/down 10:24 [2] 1.56 km (6:41 / km)
ahr:129 max:139 shoes: Salomon Speedcross 4

Better warm down. Through the dunes then back on the back beach.
Left knee iffy.
Other than that feeling ok apart from my thigs being like they were used as a pin cushion.

Took the lads into Dinis Cottage for tea & cake beforehand. The least enjoyable good cake i've had in a long time. The midges were horrific!!!
And the lads were oblivious to them while myself and Mary were driven mental.

Nice day, warm. With more sun on the way home.

Feeling ok, maybe some tiredness in the legs.

10.53 for Ladies View so not spectacular. But faster overall than last time up here. So moving better overall. Don't think the HR was as high as previous efforts too on the climb. Bit of a delay on the descent for the 2nd part with a car in front, but could have been a slower car.

Definitely after getting busier on this road, more tourists about. A few bikes came against me but none to pass out.

Lough Guitane - Barraduff

Done this loop a few times recently, it's a handy hour. Uphill start isn't the easiest. Felt ok, but realised later that it was down to having a tailwind as turned into the wind at the church in Glenflesk, and definitely had it in my face on the way back in from Barraduff.

Wasn't pleased on the hill before Barraduff after the pub, truck passed me out and then immediately stopped as another lorry coming against, he could have waited to pass me out after the lorry had passed.

Trails/Road 44:30 [3] 8.9 km (5:00 / km) +42m 4:53 / km
ahr:143 max:159 shoes: New Balance 890 v8 (green)

Humid evening but stayed dry, sort of damp over by Torc, but only there. Strong breeze of the lake too.

Calves I do not trust at the moment but survived the run.

Was racing an old man on a bike for a while, caught up with him around Muckross House, I won!

After work running today as was in the office. Definitely harder to fit a run in after the office than working from home.

Looking a bit cloudier towards the hills so went west instead. Will head to Molls on Saturday if weather is ok. Damp start but dry for the spin, humid, and got warmer later in the spin with the sun out. Nice.

Legs feeling fine and moving well. So happy with it.

Traffic definitely busier around the place.

Note
(rest day)

Took today off work to lengthen the bank holiday weekend. Didn't do too much, some upper body work pushing the lads on the swing this morning and then we went around Muckross Farm after lunch.

Front part of left foot still a bit sore, banged it somewhere on Sunday in the woods, can't remember exactly where.

Legs/body would have been ok to train today but family commitments. Will only run once again this week. Calf not 100% and with the races recently I don’t want to force things.
