Out after breakfast. Lovely morning but did have the arm warmers on. Not that busy this early so no need to slow down for passing people.

Took in the climb up upper Torc which I’d not done in a while. Legs could feel it on the bit before the water works.

Out for an hour which was plenty. Had to be back anyways to get into town for the bike fest parade.

Walking 1:41:02 [3] 5.95 km (16:59 / km) +23m 16:40 / km
ahr:85 max:94

Was home late after the BBQ so I wasn’t feeling too energetic this morning.

Not going to tick rest day despite not actually training. Walk with the lads in the morning and parked a good bit from the bike fest in the afternoon which involved pushing at least 2 on the buggy for most of the walk back.

Also had 2 hours cutting the grass, no mow may does have its drawbacks when it comes to cutting in June!

Friday May 31 #

(rest day)

Work BBQ.

Had considered heading out on site which might have facilitated getting something done training wise but reconsidered when I remembered traffic in Killarney would be a shit fest due to the bike fest.

Thursday May 30 #

Trails/Road 37:12 [3] 7.24 km (5:08 / km) +58m 4:56 / km
ahr:148 max:167 shoes: New Balance 880 v11 (Red)

Legs were ok. Could sort of feel them at times. But no extra niggles afterwards.

Sun shining but not that warm.

Ran in town as had to bring the kids home.

Cycling 1:05:02 [3] 33.32 km (1:57 / km) +122m 1:55 / km
ahr:149 max:170 shoes: Shimano RC5

Another windy evening, from the west, so into my face on the way out to Beaufort but tail wind home.

Probably moving a bit better than last week, slightly quicker time anyways, but traffic probably lighter this evening, not much of it on Mission Road for a change.

Loose chippings still a bit of a nuisance near home but improving.

Tuesday May 28 #

(rest day)

Glad of it. Lacking a bit of energy moving around but in reality was probably fine.

Monday May 27 #

5 PM

Cycling (MTB) 50:43 [2] 19.06 km (2:40 / km) +190m 2:32 / km
ahr:133 max:161 shoes: Bontrager Foray Mountain Shoe

HR not that high but let’s felt tired. Tomorrow’s rest needed.

Nice evening to be out though. Some sun this afternoon and a bit warmer than the weekend.

Busy in places with people so that didn’t help.

Set a PR on the track back from the abbey when I actually put in some effort, need 3 seconds for a top 10, next time.
