Note

Windy out, but sunny and mild enough that when it came time to run something down to the Post, I wheeled my bike out and took it instead of driving, as the preferred means of running errands. I think it's the first time I've been outside on a bike since before T-Day? Not totally sure, but I am sure I am totally not checking my log to find out.

That was fun until when, on the way back home, my back tire exploded. There was no warning, so I was caught quite off guard. I'm still not sure if it was the tube giving way, or if I ran over some extra sharp and unyielding object that cut right through my gatorskin. There is a big gash/cut area in the tire, so whatever it was, I definitely didn't just imagine it all.

Fortunately I was only a half mile from home, and it was still quite nice out, so me and my bike just walked back home together from there. The gatorskin company will be so happy when I order a new tire.

Skied late in the afternoon until well past dark. Colder air came through while I was skiing and in the end I opted to ski longer and skip running. Looks like some snow might be on the way in tonight, which would be so nice.

Note

With the end of the year fast approaching, it's pretty clear that 2018 is going to go down with zero races for me. It makes me wonder how many folks there are out there who did more O' specific training than I did and who also didn't race once. Probably not many.

Maybe I will hit something next year, but these days the hurdle for what becomes attractive enough to want to travel to is quite a bit higher than it once was.
