Training Log Archive: Swampfox

Today it was truly seasonably mild--lots of sun, subdued breeze (only 40+ mph according to the sign on the interstate), and temps that hit at least 51F. I figure for late February anything into the upper 40s is good enough for "mild", so what we had today was even fashionably warm.

I went out on my bike again, this time for about an hour, and the whole ride was quite nice.

Ski conditions changed dramatically today, going from trails that were only just slightly softened yesterday to near spring conditions today. By late day many sunnier spots were getting crusty, though without any death ruts setting in yet. I cut it short and skied very conservatively, and then ran longer afterwards. Winter is unlikely to be done anytime soon, but today could make a person feel like it was about over.

With the high school and middle school seasons over now, trails were largely deserted today.
