Fully sunny and so nice looking outside that it never occurred to me that...the interstate might be closed until I got on the interstate and saw flashing lights up ahead. So back home, checked to see what WYDOT was saying, and went walking for a half hour or so. Back home again, and now WYDOT was showing I-80 eastbound was open, so I headed back up to go skiing, and made it this time.
Up top the wind had some good kick and snow was blowing all over the place, doing a nice job of icing the Happy Jack highway. But as long as you went slow...it wasn't so bad. Even after the delays, I was still able to get in 90 minutes of skiing before dark, and stopping by then was just as well because if anything the wind was ripping away better than ever, even in the trees, and felt pretty cold.
