Sunday Feb 28 #

Skied in the afternoon and then, back in the parking lot, considered my options. I had planned to run some. However, by this point it had become very windy. Some portions of the road in between there and home were already heavily iced over. I decided it would be better to take the drive while it was still light out, and cede the trails to the wind.

Back home, I put in some time on the indoor trainer instead.

A bit chilly feeling because of wind; skied and then did some running. One young bull moose in the trail.

Friday Feb 26 #

Ski intervals, the last couple were tough, and I thought it was just me getting tired. And it may have been, but it was also getting colder as I was skiing, and by the last 2 intervals my skis were really dragging up the steep hill that I start out intervals on. So I think a good part of feeling more tired than I expected was because my skis were working less and less well during the workout. Or maybe I was just getting tired.

Thursday Feb 25 #

Skied with Tyler, ended up out for a little over 2 hrs. Today is the first day I would count this season where the snow coverage was at least adequate over nearly all of the trail net.

Wednesday Feb 24 #

Skied and ran some as well.

Tuesday Feb 23 #

Sunny, quite windy, a great day for ski intervals and that's what I did.

Monday Feb 22 #

Quite windy, maybe windier than yesterday, and fully sunny. However, in spite of those conditions yesterday's very icy Happy Jack road was almost totally dry today, with no snow blowing over it. I suspect any snow that was susceptible to being moved by the wind had already ended up somewhere in Nebraska. Skied for 2+ hrs and skied some with Matt and Jared. Relative to what has been a snow poor season, conditions were quite nice today. Maybe winter will finish with a flourish.
