AM Running around the two sprint maps in Sigulda, 1:5000, very poor print quality. Decided to do my easy run with a map instead. Made one long course. Felt a bit tired but expected that. Rest tomorrow and then a short run around the sprint model on Friday and I should be all set for the WOC Sprint Saturday! Hot 27C.

AM Intervals at the Sigulda track. Last fast/hardish training before WOC, taper workout, 1km R3’ 1km R3’ 600m R2:30’ 400m. Happy with the times which were right around what I wanted to run and felt strong! Obviously could have gone faster but have to save that for race day. I’m all ready for the WOC Sprint Saturday! It was a nice track, 250m but the turns seemed pretty tight. Hot out 26C but felt like 33C with the humidity!, light wind.

AM Run around Sigulda. Felt tired but I’m pretty sure the heat made it feel worse than it actually was. Hot 28C felt like 35C with the humidity, light wind.

PM Tallinn O Week WRE Middle at Pikknomm at 1:10000. Fast terrain even though the soft ground kills you physically. Pretty good race considering my time in the forest has been limited. My hip, leg and knee were definitely sore from the fall yesterday but it should be fine in a couple of days. A bit hesitant to #1 and especially to #2 as I thought I was in a clearing before the actual clearing so didn't want to pass the control. #5-1min+- didn't look at my compass enough and should have had more features in my plan. #10-50s-1min-missed the control to the left.#12-1min- basically got stuck in the shitty marsh and should have climbed the hill, I was also dying at this point too, probably a combo of the heat and soft ground which was destroying my legs...not use to running in that! Still not sure if I was as tired as I really thought or felt in the last loop or if I had it in the back of my head that WOC is soon and I don't want to push too hard and or hurt myself. I think I had a bit more in me but still was super tired. Warm out 27C ish, probably 30C ish with the humidity. Good race despite the mistakes. Course distance was 5.4km.

PM Tallinn O Week WRE Sprint in Tallinn Rotermani at 1:4000. Fun course with lots of controls and really fast running. Pretty good race but lost some time. #4 8s-just got a bit behind in my navigation and got confused where I was so had to stop and proceeded cautiously as I was still unsure.
#7-about 3s due to a slightly longer route. #13-8s took a hard fall so lost some time falling haha and then when I got up it took a bit to re find myself and continue. #14- 2sec a little hesitant. #15-5s got sucked into a control that wasn’t mine which was super dumb by me. Had a strong second half which was really nice despite feeling the fall a bit. It was nice to run a fast race and get some of the cobwebs out before WOC next weekend. Just hope that I feel 100%! (I think I’ll be fine...hopefully!) My shape is really good and my orienteering is primed now. Warm out 27C ish, light wind.
7th place +36s behind the winner.
