Warm up to the start, was easy running even up the hill + some drills.

Orienteering race (Ilkley Moor ) 55:07 [3] *** 6.3 km (8:45 / km) +225m 7:25 / km

Nice gentle run, wasn't too hard a race, quite easy technically and more runnable than last time though there were some nasty climbs to start which pushed the intensity up.

Was fine navagation wise but lost 10s on 9 (taking the wrong path), took the wrong route choice to 11 (should have taken top path), hesitant to 13 and 15s on 14 (where i was at the wrong end of the hill near the rocks)
So thats 25s + 1min for 11 and 13. So not bad!

New shoes coped well but gave slight agro on the uphill at the beginning. (normal) (GPS)

Sledmere Hall

A bit boring but got round, mostly micro-rourte choice errors but 6 was shown to be 3/4 of the way up a hill when it was at the bottom which was marshy so climbed up only to find it was at the bottom (features were at a bigger scale so didnt fit right)
Also at 9 I was off quite far to the left and I think it was too far right as well on the veg boundry

so 40s of mistakes
I think the garmin lost the signal in places because there are allot of steep spikes in climb where I was on the flat

They messed up the start times again so i ended up going 3s after Paul Murgatroyed (Paul M) instead of 17s so caught him up before 1. It was nasty because I was stuck behind him and dean for the first wooded bit so got lots of branches constantly (and i mean constantly) in my face but overtook dean. Paul M pulled away on the track miles until made his mistake back in the woods and I didn't see him again.
Zac caught me up 1min soon after (proving that he should be the one to run orange in the JK relays (L)) and i nearly caught him up 50m on the run in but I could tell it was too much, unlike last time.

Was going to go on another night run with my dad but i have slight knee pains and may be developing a cold + we both didnt want to go

A big test run testing
- my new VJ supra (and them in the snow)
-my mums head torch (and when it is snowing) so i can decide wether to use it for the British nights to replace my petty little Head torch
-my dads ability to keep up

The supra were fine, comfy and grippy but I think Ill just use them for races because there is allot of tarmac between me and a wood, the head torch was good although I was hoping no-one i knew saw me, my dad couldn't keep up I had to keep waiting for him because he is a much slower runner (so i was a m/km slower) but i doubt I would have convinced myself to go out if he hadn't come along and I would defiantly have gotten spooked in the wood.

When I got back into the field I did 3 roughly 20s 100% reps with about 20-30s gaps waiting for my dad.
