spiked:22/23c shoes: VJ Supra

A fairly smooth run, no real problems appart from on 3 where I stopped one spur too early and 12 where I went in the wrong depression total of those would be 40s but make it a minute in total due to other very minor things.
Very tired, was a slog, but it was fun running on sand dunes again. Looking good for JK Normal GPS

The warm up, took it easy but then found out the start time was delayed by about 10min so took it easier

Ok race although would have done much better.
In the final details it said that flower beds were olive and OOB so right after thestart I saw some flower beds but they werent olive, they were sort of turquoise-green. I couldnt spot any olive on the map so I carried on avoiding this green colour. At 2 i went under a passable fence but I couldnt see if there was a sliver of green, someone saw me and said 'you shouldnt do that!' so I thought I had gone through some of the green. Anyway therest of the course I avoided this green even when it ment detours. Other people did the same but it turns out you could go through this green. So over the whole course Ilost about 1min due to that

other mistakes- 3-4 not planned ahead
-7 got stuck in the flower beds which wereactually crossable
-10 bad route choice ( the good one was through the flower beds
-19 went the wrong way
-21 stuck in the buildings

overallabout 2min
i actually ran 4.16km not 2.7

Fun but disastrous.

1- Streight into hard route choice which I didn't handle well, lost about 40s down in a valley on the wrong side of a fence in gorse. Not sure i took the best rc after that too.
2- Went too far down the hill 1min 30s
7- Not sure about the route choice
8- The biggy. Was going to go on a rc north of a hill but decided on a rc (route choice) south of it because of the snow but ended up in more snow on a steep hill. Sledged down it then ran for 10s before realising I didnt have my map anymore. I followed the tracks back and got it. 10s later I went back because i didnt have it again. Once in the woods i made progress but then realised I had lost my map again when I was near the control. There were no tracks through the snow this time to help. Looked for about a minute asking everyone if they had seen it and this nice lady had got it =) 2minutes + very bad rc NP finding the control though
10- Flustered so wrong path- dead end + wrong path again 40s
11- Fallen tree caused me to go on parallel error 40s

so in total 5min 30s =S bad but still first
the new light was brill, just like running in the day Normal GPS (wrong at 4)

Fun little race round endcliffe with my diddy head torch the three exercises had 'twists'

1st loop was map memory
2nd loop- the map had been inverted so west was east and east was west so therefore you could not orientate it which i think was the point. It was strange because there were times when i was running diagonally up hill but my brain was saying I was running downhill, nothing would line up either.
3rd look was corridor-window exercise which was interesting, i forgot to use my compass though

Its really annoying because PE lessons aren't amounting to much lately.
Im gonna just ask to go for a run next lesson, probs wont be allowed tho.
