Note

The Chiropractic person said that my ankle muscles stiffened slightly and because I am running differently it put lots of pressure onto one of the metatarsal bones which got bruised, slightly inflamed and moved out of place. Ive now got some exercises to do.
9 PM

Gym/Conditioning 20:00 [2]

Mainly stretches, the toe exercise + upper body. (nothing foot-strenuous)

Running warm up/down 17:00 [2] 1.5 km (11:20 / km)
shoes: VJ Supra

Warm up run and drills

Orienteering race 56:27 [3] *** 6.7 km (8:26 / km) +170m 7:29 / km
spiked:15/17c (injured) shoes: VJ Supra

Fun course, good map, first of spring, sunny day, warm, nice run, my cake day =)

Absolutely NAILED 1, 2, 3, 14, 16, finnish so pleased but i didn't run very fast on any of them so wont have got fastest.
As above + made a couple of mistakes-
4- I got the wrong side of the fence twice 20s
10- Bad route choice because of foot (see below) to ease pain, 1min 30s
15- took many different bearings over the field + coming into the control the rhododendron was much bigger so i got stuck in it 1min
Total 2min 50s

My foot was hurting again but only after 4 because 5 & 6 were on the slope which was particularly nasty so that set it off, after that I was generally slower and took different routes so that I was in less pain (it was a dull but strong pain when i had pressure on my right foot). I would guess at up to 4-6minutes lost because of that alone. Though it wasn't enough to put a dampener on today =)

Learnt how to pace today. I worked out i was about 30 on the path and 34 in terrain and it normally worked out in the training. Compass was good too but really slow.

Orienteering (Collecting and hanging ) 20:00 [2] *** 3.3 km (6:04 / km)
spiked:8/10c shoes: Salomon Contagrip Fell Shoes

Went ok although some of the depressions were a bit iffy

Orienteering (Aiming off) 15:00 [2] *** 1.7 km (8:49 / km)
spiked:11/12c (injured) shoes: Salomon Contagrip Fell Shoes

Went more than ok but right at the very end (last 50m) my foot started hurting again like before so had to walk, rested it then tried the sprint course but only managed one control =(
