Busy weekend. I am now sooo tired. On the plus side I had a good time, did quite well, won 2 certificates, 1 fleece and a blue EMIT brick =)
5 AM

Night Orienteering =D race (PP Leg 2) 33:12 [4] *** 6.57 km (5:03 / km) +97m 4:42 / km
spiked:22/26c slept:1.0 shoes: Oasics, Gel-Numbus Shoes

1 hour of glorious sleep =L Everyone woke up when some silly first leg runners got up at 3.45am (an hour before they start!) So I got up. Yawn.

It was actually such good fun but would have been better if they had turned some of the street lights off. Aidan brought me back in 5th about a minute down on the leader but all the really good people had gone on the first leg so I didn't have much competition.

I overtook a Barrow girl and met up with a Harlequins boy (one of the Mackenzie's?) Then we picked up Nick Malbon and then Lucy Butt. I made a mistake at 4 costing 30-40s where they caught me back up. Lost 10s going to 5. Then leaving 5 I didn't see the path and thought what the hell so tried the bulldozing technique on some thickets, I got slightly off track and ended up in a big pit full of shoulder high brambles and nettles. And two of them followed me in.. haha. So Id got rid of them but still had a hanger on who was thrown off by a later gaffle. The rest of the course went boringly/interestingly quick if you get my meaning and I lost time near the end through lack of motivation.

I handed over to Adam 5minutes in 1st place, Adam extended it to 6minutes, Katherine extended it to 8 or 9 then it was louise and Rachel together. Finally Zac who took it safe and finished with us about 4 or 5 minutes in the lead.

Sprint/Urban Orienteering long (Lincoln City Course A) 51:54 [3] *** 9.52 km (5:27 / km) +150m 5:03 / km
spiked:27/31c slept:2.0 shoes: Oasics, Gel-Numbus Shoes

Got another hours sleep in the Car. Yawn.

Interesting course. I got completely flummoxed in the maze even when I spent an age planning it, haven't got a clue how long I lost. A couple of confusions like 17 where I was going by the unwritten rule that a control is always at the bottom of a crag (it said end but it was at the top at the end. And on 20 where I just got confused over the canopies.. excuse me doorways I meant. Oh and at 18 where I lost 1min 10s because I didn't plan it at the crossing like I did 15,16 and 17.

Soo all in all about 2 to 2 and a half minutes lost. I was running fairly slow but kept going up the hills. Looks like all my hill training *COUGH* is working out.

My Route gadget , I realised that I went through a none existent fence and a non existent wall and private land ie. they were mapped wrongly. Look at the RG and my comments and you'll see.

Sprint/Urban Orienteering race (Sheffield Sprint Prologue) 6:49 [3] *** 1.27 km (5:22 / km) +10m 5:10 / km
spiked:18/20c slept:8.0 shoes: Oasics, Gel-Numbus Shoes

Was helping all morning so it was an early start. Lost some time on some where I was unsure of wether I could cross a fence and it would have cost more to check. Most of the time the fence wasn't even mapped but best be on the safe side. The most time lost was through waking up the controls as I was the first to about 6 of them so overall probably 50s MAX lost. I checked probably a third of the descriptions but on one there was another control 15m away and I had been waking boxes before that so I was a bit distracted (control flow and that), obviously I went to the wrong one.

Not too bothered about miss punching because the nope sport league is biased so I have given up on it this year. I was there for the fun and experience anyway.

Sprint/Urban Orienteering race (Sheffield City Sprint) 16:10 [4] *** 3.26 km (4:58 / km) +68m 4:29 / km
spiked:16/19c shoes: Oasics, Gel-Numbus Shoes

Good race =) Though Dave Brown foiled mine and Craig's master winning plan, damn you! =p

Aim was to catch up craig and motivate ourselves (run round together) but that didn't work because there was more time between us now and I accidentally didn't slow down once I caught craig. Mistakes were just one hesitation and two WHERE THE HELL AM I!! moments. Probably 20s in total. I also walked a bit of a long uphill leg O.o

Fun day =)

Running (Recovery) 28:41 [2] 5.3 km (5:25 / km) +70m 5:05 / km
ahr:157 max:171 shoes: Oasics, Gel-Numbus Shoes

Quite late for a recovery run?

Tried to get the HR around 70% (159) all the way round (though it should actually have stayed below). I managed better than last time but there is a big difference between the speed/distance/whatever else this time and last time I did a recovery run.

Todays run
