Sprint/Urban Orienteering race (Nottingham city race) 48:24 intensity: (40:24 @3) + (8:00 @4) *** 9.45 km (5:07 / km) +130m 4:48 / km
spiked:31/32c shoes: Brooks CASCADIA 5

Last time I did this race it took a lot out of me (which I can't have with the Swiss, Croeso and the OO.cup coming up) so I set off at a steady pace and more or less kept it up to the finish. I only had a small error on 11 but all the of rest came really easily.

The real marathon comes after this with the Tour, Wimbledon and Sliverstone :)

Missed number 11 out so got a 30s time penalty for a 10s ctrl

Sprint/Urban Orienteering race (A Final) 13:26 [4] *** 1.73 km (7:46 / km) +110m 5:54 / km

Had a bit of a disaster. I got mixed up with the ctrl lines and went to 14 before 1 and took ages to relocate. I was 1-2min behind everyone after that, too far to catch them.

I suck at cycling.

The plan was to head up towards Penistone, pick up the Trans-Pennine Trail and follow that down to Elsecar then back home.
There was some problem with my gears because the chain kept slipping/coming off when it was under any force so I had to stay in a very low gear to stop it happening.
I haven't ridden that route before and all the ink ran off my map so I ended up going down the wrong road and going onto a footpath which disappeared leaving me in the middle of some wood, without a path and off the bit of the map which I had memorised. I had to trek through some fields and hedges then somehow find my way to the TPT. I eventually found it in the next valley back.
And finally to top it off I got a puncture/tear 11.5km from home, I didn't have a spare inner tube and none of the patches for repairing the tube were big enough so I had to walk/jog the bike back which took about 2 hours (Not included in the time).

Yay cycling.
