Orienteering 15:00 [1]
Warm up/cool down - legs feeling tight yesterday at start, so tried to loosen up before and after. Felt better, although outran map reading during run.
Orienteering 1:22:21 [4]8.4 km (9:48 / km) +280m 8:24 / km
spiked:7/13c
Day 3 - Blue Mt Red - Trouble today. Out ran mapreading as starting to get used to altitude and let caution go a bit. Esp 5-went down wrong reentrant, and 12- followed wrong reentrant to R, w Paul Regan on my heels as witness.

Friday Jul 4

Orienteering 1:11:27 [4]7.89 km (9:03 / km) +200m 8:02 / km
spiked:12/14c
Day 2 - Round Mt Red - Fast, straight running course, but not yet up to altitude, so rather slow go, which helped O. Only slight problem on 11 where misregistration of map made difficult interpreting actual feature.

Thursday Jul 3

Orienteering 1:02:50 [4]5.31 km (11:50 / km) +205m 9:55 / km
spiked:9/11c
Ash Fest Day 1- Manitou Lk Red - Slow effort to keep in contact with complex reentrant network. Did until 9 when got distracted and followed another runner (Rick DeW) until I lost him. Lost position, found 10, relocated back to 9.

Wednesday Jul 2

Orienteering 25:13 [4]
Ash Fest Prologue - Good clean run but sucking wind all around. Even took it easy.
Orienteering 1:33:08 [4]8.16 km (11:25 / km) +280m 9:45 / km
Chase - Badger Gulch - Hot! Took it slow, easy - tho not by choice, cooking and sucking wind.Good except uncertain route choice to 2 and got worst of 3 choices.

Sunday Jun 29

Orienteering 1:32:17 [4]6.09 km (15:09 / km) +230m 12:45 / km
spiked:11/12c
Huntington Red - 75, humid, had T'stormed before starts. V wet features. Had nice run overall but blew #4 badly - misread terrain and map undershows gr in area. Went down reentrant L, should have stayed R along cliffs. Lost 11-12 min! Otherwise got caught in some thick gr but knew position, had good focus,, contact.

Good warm up for Colorado, I hope.
Orienteering 54:27 [1]
Huntington - control pickup. Easy roam around S part of map. Some vary subtle contour activity. Great training area.
Note
60 today - another great day! But aren't they all?
