Orienteering 54:23 [4] 3.69 km (14:44 / km) +70m 13:28 / km
BG Short race - 60, sunny. Pretty shaky O. Boom on 4 and 11 (went all the way down to bottom to reclimb 5 lines), and bobbles and 1, 6, 7. So heading into BG with concern.

Thursday Apr 22

Trail run (Peaking speeds) 55:11 [2] 5.9 mi (9:21 / mi)
Purple loop - 70, sunny, humid, overdressed. 3 sets of 5x 15" hard/30" easy rcy with 5' between sets. 1st 2 sets on rough single trk/3rd on woods road. Form practice.

Wednesday Apr 21

Trail run (Purple loop) 40:00 [1] 3.1 mi (12:54 / mi)
50, grey to sun. Hard go. Was really a struggle to move, in fact stopped several times just to walk along and enjoy (?) the birds, esp onfinal hills. Altho barely moving, felt like 4 or 5 effort.

Tuesday Apr 20

Trail run (warm up/cool down) 20:00 [1]
ahr:126 max:155
Brainard N - 65, sunny.
Orienteering (Training) 51:19 [4] 4.43 km (11:35 / km)
ahr:167 max:178
Brainard N - Course training, hung tapes as went for Lyn (incl in time). Tried to work on continually moving, minimize stopping, reading map on move. Generally a good run altho bonked going to 1, went in too soon, missed tape (from earlier trng) and kept going into featureless slash area. Reran leg at end while waiting for Lyn and took 2 min off time on this route, then another min off when returned via straight route. Rest went well.

Interesting how high HR goes under O effort, but not seem so hard an effort as compared to track or road. Shows the importance of training in the woods.
Strength 30:00 [1]
Garden - turn over winter rye, 3 rows. Sore back now.

Monday Apr 19

Cycling (Road) 40:00 [2]
W Simsbury loop w/o hills - 65, sunny. Steady spin to get legs loose. Tried to keep high rate. Legs tired from w.e.

Sunday Apr 18

Trail run (Warm up) 10:00 [2]
Brooksvale - 70, sunny. Easy jog about to warm up. Need to work on focussing mentally as well.
Orienteering 1:12:51 [5] 5.89 km (12:22 / km)
ahr:168 max:182 spiked:9/12c
Brooksvale Red - 80, sunny, open woods, no foliage, wet. After #4, did well but 1 - went too high and then right past ~100m. 2 - bothered by extra boulders. 4 - poorly mapped area with uncertain boulders, turned L, should have gone R. Also slowed for horses at 7&8. Interestingly HR seemed to hover in 170 range most of way and settled lower when stopped to ponder map (?) Need to work on reading map in motion more.

22' faster than Dec 7 with 10" of new snow. Same course.
