Sunday May 2

Trail run (Warm up) 10:00 [1]
W Pt Day 2 - 50, misty rain. Up and down trail for a bit.
Orienteering 1:32:39 [4] 5.94 km (15:36 / km) +300m 12:27 / km
Long Mt - Misty, wet, glasses fogged up quickly and had to keep wiping them. Bad blister under ball of R foot from Sat/recurrance from Billygoat. Made it painful to contour - IE most of 2nd half of course and very hard going to 9.

O was pretty good except bad route around marsh to 2.

Red Day 2 - Splits

Saturday May 1

Trail run (Warm up) 10:00 [1]
Wt Pt Round Pond - 70, sunny. Jog up and down trail before start.
Orienteering 2:11:20 [4] 8.27 km (15:53 / km) +350m 13:06 / km
Wt Point Day 1, Round Pond - Hot. Generally slow. General nav ok but trouble as approached circle. Working too much on using black detail after Friday hike which unfortunately wasn't there in lots of instances. So several bad booms.

Red X - Splits

Friday Apr 30

Orienteering (Training) 2:00:00 [1]
Map hike on Surebridge map to reacquaint with 1:15000 map. Overwhelmed by the detail so went up to the Baileytowm area for a quick look around across from the Silvermine ski area. Was a bit more manageable for these old eyes.

Checked out the Adv Race start being set up.

Thursday Apr 29

Strength (nycb)
General: abs, neck, legs. Easy stuff.

Wednesday Apr 28

Trail run (Warm up/cool down) 24:00 [1]
Brainard N - 50, sunny, very windy - esp along dike to start.
Orienteering (Training) 42:00 [4] 3.8 km (11:03 / km)
Brainard N - Course of streamers from last wk in shuffled order. Concentrated on smoothly going thru controls, keeping moving while reading map. Had good flow going until stopped to talk to some Mt bikers, one of whom I used to work with. He's also retired and rides here every day. Blew the next control, a short leg, but got back on track.

Tuesday Apr 27

Trail run 58:44 [1] 5.9 mi (9:57 / mi)
Purple loop - 60, sunny. Very slow go. Hard to go to start on the road approach but loosened up, picked up on the long down hill and felt good going uphill, but faded on final road home. BG revenge.
