| Day 5 Chase @ Rattlesnake Hill - Long slog of a running course across open prairies in full sun, hot. Got stuck crossing chest deep beaver pond, mapped as rough open, going to 4. Unfortunate that map corrections weren't to highlight changes to ponds as this approach was the obvious attackpoint but not mapped well and was a bingo type advantage for those who went straight. Similar problem in ponds near 1 - Lyn went in up to her neck trying to cross a pond. Certainly were plenty of course options that would have avoided these problems. Worse with the inkjet overprint, if the map got wet - you lost the course. | ||

| Day 4 Happy Jack - Early start and saw no one. Slow going overall but had big trouble going to 8. Found lt green areas softer than other WY maps and many batches of unmapped aspens in area. Tried to follow aspens in but wound up way E, possibly just off map looking up the ridge at a huge male moose!. Decided to focus and relocated, but lost almost 20'. Also overshot 10 to similar control feature control.
Was a good day for wildlife as saw an elk while heading up to 7, and chased cows away from 14.

| Day 3/Pelican Bay Red - Late start so very hot in open. Ran from shade to shade where possible. Living on Motrin (vitamin M) and ankle was ok for running with elastic brace. Even rolled again 100m after start and felt nothing - yeah Motrin. 1400mg Tues/1600mg Wed. plus ice and rest Thurs. Swollen and starting to color up nicely.
Run went well exc went too low to 6 and overshot for 6' error. Otherwise accurate but not always best route but generally good.

| Day 2 First with the Most - V windy and cool at start, but fine once running until badly rolled L ankle going to 5. Caught studs on sandstone rock as jumping over and landed on ground on side of foot. Stopped tried to walk a bit and move it and able to start running again after a few steps but generally painful, slow. O was good exc to 3, to R to similar spur. lost 1'. Rest good. | ||
