Sunday Sep 5

Orienteering 1:21:35 [4]6.4 km (12:45 / km)
Sessions Woods - 65, grey. Perfect day for woods running. Rich Nietupski set a nice course that missed most of the bad green if you knew where to go. Slight hesitation at 5, control had been switched with 6. Missed 9 slightly (was buried in a bit of green). So generally pretty clean run. Wish I could do this well on unkown terrain.

Termite chase - 100, sunny, drenching sweat. Spent day busting up rear step with a jackhammer and hauling refuse away, to eliminate the termite access pathway with Gari and Lyn. Was like Tom Sawyer - hey boy this is fun working this jackhammer - Oh, can I try?;} Found several big access tunnels and live termites in areas that earlier treatment didn't reach. They seemed unhappy that the nice yummy house had become inaccessible.

Now to rebuild sills, sheathing, shingles, and strengthen beams that they enjoyed.

Another round - stretching, abs, legs, balance. Starting to get it a bit.

Then started to pull termite damage apart with Gari in pm!

65, clear. Easy run but seemed very tired and struggled to keep going.

This is supposed to be a rcy week!

Discovered termite damage in the basement this afternoon - so the next project! Can anyone point us to a nice condo with good training and maps nearby;}

HTC XC - run 2 mile course as warm up. Plus 2 strides of 50m or so.
Trail run (Time Trial) 15:24 [5]2.0 mi (7:41 / mi)

HTC XC Trng - 75-80, clear, less humid. Time trial on first part of xc course as a check of form and fitness. See if we improve over the course of the 6 wk trng sessions. Was able to keep up a steady pace around course, though felt about maxed and seemed slower, possibly left over from Sunday run. Will have to keep working the speed part of the equation.

After time trial, easy run around course again to cars. Still felt pretty good.
