Sunday May 22

Trail run warm up/down 15:00 [1]
weight:153lbs shoes: Jalas
Mashamoquet - round about parking and to start.
Orienteering race 1:02:42 [3]*** 5.4 km (11:37 / km)
spiked:6/11c weight:153lbs (injured) shoes: Jalas
Mashamoquet - Green - 55, grey, nice running weather. Overall good run but some problems: overshot 2, missed route to 4, marked map with wrong pit 5 but spiked mine and never saw theirs, and finally punched 9 just after Lyn and headed out to catch up - tripped going around a tree and landed squarely on sternum on trunk, just brushing R cheek. Winded and stunned for a bit, then finished. Lyn heard the ugh and came back to see me motionless on hands and knees and could only think of Gari. Chest very sore, probably cracked the strenum. But according to JJ, I verified the reality of Catching Features: when you hit a tree, the tree wins and you bounce down and go ugh! A Hard lesson! but don't know how I managed to miss hitting the tree full in the face.

Water fall route w final section in reverse - 60, sunny, clear/dry. Not humid summer yet. Nice easy pace run, trying to flow smoothly, flatish route.

Thursday May 19

Strength (Garden) 1:00:00 [1]
weight:154lbs
Day in the garden: Turned over 3 more rows of winter rye, spread old compost pile, turn over new pile, prune and broke up clippings of forsythia bush. Fairly cooked so skipped the HTC reservoir run. Will have a glass or three of red instead.
Saw a pileated woodpecker in back and we have been harassed all day by what seem like swarms of wrens - fun.

Wednesday May 18

Strength (nycb 2) 55:00 [1]
weight:151lbs
Usual - except for several interuptions to watch termites swarm up from rr ties around the patio. Oh no - were supposed to be gone after the dosing in yucky stuff last fall. Have to see if they come out of the house this season.

Tuesday May 17

Mapping 5:00:00 [1]***
weight:152lbs shoes: Salomon XA Pro
Ratlum Mt, 60, sunny clear day. Day of fighting mt laurel. Seems like a long time to extend the map just a small bit, but the openish woods works around like a maze and must be chased down - even the dead ends - altho you usually get sucked along so far, then don't want to bother going back. So fight to that clear patch - just overrrr therrrrre. Oops - not clear after all. Then you're really in for a fight for a bit.

Monday May 16

Note
weight:152lbs (rest day)
Feeling the weekend, really groggy today so just catching up. Tomorrow off to Charlie's to map a bit.
