Sunday Jan 15

Strength (shovelling snow) 30:00 [1]
weight:151lbs
Clearing 3-4" of powder from last night. Windy and cold after yesterday of 55 and rain.

Also spent fair amount of time running cable around to get wi-fi set up in basement rather than Lyn's kitchen before she threw me out;-}
Note
Missed week goal rather badly - 283 v 495' Lot of that due to the rain all Sat and now blustery cold snow conditions today. Also wanted to rest knee a bit, seems better tho still tender.
Tomorrow starts a new week; see if we can do better: goal 545'. Will start with a run on Coups Sawmill after the mama run, hopefully.

Friday Jan 13

Strength (nycb 2) 55:00 [1]
weight:153lbs
Normal stuff. Felt good except for L knee. Back of knee remains sore and achy when standing but activity doesn't seem to bother.

Thursday Jan 12

Trail run long 1:13:34 [2]
weight:151lbs shoes: NB 833
Horse Tr - 35, sunny, skare snow footing - soft on horse tr, more ice patches, hard pack on St Zotique return. Wore Sure Foots for retn. Hard running as snow would freq give unexpectantly, much like running on a beach. Still another fine day.

Wednesday Jan 11

Trail run long 1:03:00 [1]
weight:152lbs shoes: Asics DS Trnr
Purple loop - 37, grey, narrow trail packed to 3-4" of snow, bit loose due to temp. Like running on sorta firm beach.
Easy run to test knee.
L Knee ok during run but was dull ache behind knee before and bit achy after.

Tuesday Jan 10

Road run warm up/down 36:00 [2]
weight:152lbs shoes: Verdict DS #1
Beaver loop ccw to B Door Hills for warm up; into woods near W TH. Cool down continued loop. - 35, sunny.
Warm up incl jog out, stretches, butt kicks, high knees, a few strides. ( 22') Cool down - felt good and nice steady pace home.
woods run hills 27:00 [4]
ahr:155 max:173 weight:152lbs (injured) shoes: Verdict DS #1
Woods W of B. Dr Hills Rd - 35, 5-6" of snow with light crust in pine glade of hill. In open woods, 12-15" of mushy snow. Wore neopreme toe booties; worked great.
Plan 25' of hill repeats including rcy. Up for 1'/rcy on way back down.
Did 8x ups of 55" to 1.22' depending on route taken. Rcy most about 2'. Almost stopped at 7 and 22', but decided one more for good measure. But L knee joint started to tweak about #5, so should have stopped much sooner. It's a bit tender now, like something loose or crossed over in the knee.
Nice effort. Just enough snow to increase the work but not so much to make impossible.

Start of Week 2 of Cycle 1 for 2006. Goal: 495 min mainly these hills, long, and strength.
