Sunday Apr 9 | ||
| Trail run warm up/down 25:00 [1] | ||
| weight:154lbs shoes: VJ Falcon | ||
| Wolf's Den (or Mashamoquet SP) NEOC Day 2 - 50, sunny, light wind at start but warmed up for a fine running day and fun sunny chatting after.
20' before trying to get warm. 5' after to loosen up, none too fast by that point.
| Orienteering race 1:01:39 [4]*** 6.35 km (9:43 / km) | ||
| shoes: VJ Falcon | ||
| Day 2 - Nice run, longer than yesterday with some fast open stretches (if the legs would decide to go fast). Clean run except about 2' lost at 8 - went below big cliff, dropping after it and not correcting going across the long reentrant. Wound up below the lower cliffs rather than above. Otherwise fine run.
5th Gr X, 2nd M60 but 6' back today. Nice course Charlie (except for the last climb loop - that was a bit excessive at that point;-}
Green X 2 - Splits | ||
Saturday Apr 8 | ||
| Event: NEOC Spring Rock Festival and Intercollegiates | ||
| Trail run warm up/down 20:00 [1] | ||
| weight:153lbs shoes: VJ Falcon | ||
| Wells SP - trying to get knees going before A meet. Seemed to work along with 4 Vit M (2 early/2 just before) no drug testing is there? So knees didn't feel bad and got going pretty well. | ||
| Orienteering race 41:13 [4]*** 3.59 km (11:29 / km) +105m 10:01 / km | ||
| spiked:12/16c weight:153lbs shoes: VJ Falcon | ||
| Wells SP / NEOC A meet day 1 - 40, grey, raw. Still no leaf out but lots of saplings and stuff getting ready, much like Brooksvale.
Generally good run, tho seemed slow. Bobbled 6, down the trail too far misreading bend and then 7, going along the wall rather than a bearing. At last check was 4th Gr X, 2nd M60 - both 5'. Knees held up ok, just started to tweak after standing around and then on drive home. More V seems to have fixed that.
Green X - Splits | ||
Friday Apr 7 | ||
| Trail run 45:00 [1]3.0 mi (14:59 / mi) | ||
| weight:154lbs (injured) shoes: Asics DS Trnr | ||
| Short loop - 50, grey. Another day with some strides - today reversed the sequence 30 paces hard/ 15 easy, 5x with 5' easy then another set. On the very last pace of the very last set, seem to have overextended the L knee which created a true patellar tendonitis situation. Very sore under knee cap for a few paces then ok until had to climb. Very sore climbing and had to walk. Ok on flat. To fully make the day, the R knee started acting up on the road run home. UGH! Both had seemed to be getting better, or at least manageable. Hope this isn't major. Will have to see how it is tomorrow. | ||
Thursday Apr 6 | ||
| Trail run 44:00 [1]3.0 mi (14:40 / mi) | ||
| weight:153lbs shoes: NB 833 | ||
| Short loop - 40, sunny, breezy.7 or 8 strides - 15 paces hard/20 easy. | ||

| weight:152lbs | ||

Tuesday Apr 4 | ||
| Strength (nycb 2) 55:00 [1] | ||
| weight:152lbs | ||
| Normal stuff. Upper shins in knee region sore trying plies but got better as went along. | ||
Monday Apr 3 | ||
| Trail run long (Tempo Fartlek) 1:29:00 [3] | ||
| weight:153lbs shoes: Asics DS Trnr | ||
| Waterfall loop - 50, lt drizzle. Started sluggish, sleepy after the mom run. Stopped and chatted with ranger at Barn Door tr hd. He mentioned how they had carried someones' campsite out from a bit off the trail including: a sofa, 2 drawer file cabinet, 6' wooden table with folding wings, rock fire ring (no rocks in the area so carried from a way off), plastic to cover the sofa. This was all about half mile from a road!
Started off again, now bit wet and chilled, taking a while to get warmed and going. Way out was sluggish, but on way back kicked in several tempo fartleks on some real nice long woodsy stretches - real pleasant, one of our best runs. So finished out at quite good pace.
