Friday Apr 6 | ||
| Note | ||
| weight:146lbs (rest day) | ||
| Very weary from yesterday. Amazing how tiring it can be to change the activity. | ||
Thursday Apr 5 | ||
| Hiking 3:00:00 [1] | ||
| weight:148lbs | ||
| Centenial Watershed SF - 40, blustery cloudy to sunny. Helping Rick with a new trail, the Aspetuck Valley Trail, through former Aquarion Water Comp property that is now state owned and managed jointly with the Nature Conservancy. Raked, cleared, pruned about a mile of trail with Rick's team. Another beautiful woods section. The water company certainly knows how to take care of their land for us.
Discovered I must have strained a L forearm muscle in a fall during the first interval yesterday. The raking really irritated the forearm. Had noticed a sore index finger during the night.
Wednesday Apr 4 | ||
| Trail run warm up/down 20:00 [1] | ||
| weight:147lbs shoes: Attack II | ||
| Wilcox Park - 36,grey, damp. 15' jog up to the ridge, stretch, and back.
5' after down to car. | ||
| Trail run hills (Repeats) 52:10 [4] | ||
| ahr:152 max:172 shoes: Attack II | ||
| Penwood N on E trail - Lt rain developed during the last 2 and got heavier as we drove home. Nice timing.
5x 5' up/rcy plan was 3.45' but hard to come back down faster than go up, in rcy mode. Did do first 2 in series so had right rcy. For 3 & 4 came back down to mid point plus tried to figure where we lost the trail (We followed a wandering bikey trail they created to go around a mud patch or two). 5 started part way down and finished at start; was a bit slower as footing became slippery from the rain. Main trail was muddy, traprock and uneven in parts; others quite nice. The bikey tr was narrow, windy, up and down but good footing. HR this year seems lower than in past. Either not working as hard, in better shape, or getting old. As long as it keeps beeping, that's just fine.
Tuesday Apr 3 | ||
| Trail run tempo (fartlek) 1:01:00 [3] 6.0 mi (10:09 / mi) | ||
| weight:146lbs shoes: DS Trainer XII | ||
| Purple loop - 50, grey, only a few icy patches left, some muddy spots but mostly soft spring trails. Was going to be a nice easy rcy run and started pretty loggy. Aches from w.e. were surfacing, like funny twinge under L patella from Sat that has been noticed. But worked the hill to the gate and then got into nice flow through the woods by the fields. Kept the flow going and it felt great. Tried not to push but nice spring day or maybe new snazzy shoes. Whatever - fun. | ||
