| Tarrywile Red - 60, sunny. Great day in the woods on a nice course by Petr Polivka who managed to get us climbing just about all the hills, at least once. Still fun running through some nice open woods sections of the map and even to find some routes along the contours that worked except the below the cliffs route to 15. Good day.
Edit: Added a count of the contours of my route. Definitely a hilly course, but felt good.

| Trail run 57:00 [2] | ||
| weight:145lbs shoes: DS Trainer XII | ||
| Horse Tr Spring Pd loop - 54, clear, strong W wind. Cool morning and almost wore tights, but was fine w/o once warmed up. Nice run w several hearty surges thrown in.
Saw some more Reishis along the trail. Once we got the idea, now can't stop finding them. In the afternoon, started to put the garden to bed. Pulled up most of the remaining tom's, cukes, squash. Pulled up the drip. Left w cherry toms, couple eggplants that have finally decided to produce, lots of jalapena, broccoli. Turned over two rows but only had enough rye seed for one so put off any further. Seed was from last fall so not sure how well it will do. Cool and damp in late afternoon as not much sun gets in the yard this time of year.

| Haven't done this for a while. Good session. Looked at the final combined movement section, but not sure I'm ready to try that yet. Pretty tricky footwork. | ||

| woods run hills 1:11:00 | ||
| weight:146lbs shoes: VJ Pro 1 | ||
| Munnisunk Woods and Tobacco Fields - 56, grey, humid, wet from rain last night. Winter's coming - ran in tights, mainly because of the wet woods and didn't want to run in O clothes so old tights instead. Comfortable so maybe a new attire.
Ran around the T fields to warm up. Then down into the woods on the S side practicing the Ross technique of blasting through the green in the general compass direction. Except in my case, it's more of a poof, but that's the idea - get ready for VA nice open woods US Champs with the unfortunate age bracketing. Crossed stream and along a path to the E end and discovered a mega new house on the corner of the woods replacing an old rundown couple building. Guess haven't been in there for a while. Then crossed further E around the old Lobo condo following a trail in Open Space in really nice woods. Came back and ran the hill here 4x, about 20m climb in 45-50m and 30". Finished with a long compass Ross run back to the party shed. Fun day and nice running in the cooler temps.
Tuesday Oct 9 | ||
| Trail run 1:01:00 [2] | ||
| weight:144lbs shoes: NB1060 | ||
| Horse/Purple/Spring Pd - 67, grey
Easy run with hips feeling quite cranky, esp L - sore with each step. Gradually better on trail, then for final road home got into a good stride and posture and ignored the hurt. It's about 3/4 of a mile and felt good but not much more these days. Only have to figure out how to manage another 4 mi by Turkey Day.

| First installment of the raking/sucking process starting the leaf mulch operation for '09 season. Autumn may not be here yet but Fall is, as in fallen leaves. not many, but enough to get off before the threatened rain!? Yikes. Haven't seen that word since Scotland. | ||
