Orienteering 1:18:18 [2] 8.8 km (8:54 / km)
shoes: Inov8 Oroc 280

Long run with Anton, meant to be longer, but I skipped sections as I started to get tired after 30-40mins due to the last week. Chilled in the beautiful day for a while to wait for Anton to catch up after his extra loop, turned out he was ahead already... At the end we chilled, again, in the sun, with some music from his car, in the completely secluded forest in the middle of nowhere. These are the things I love about Sweden.

Orienteering (EOC Tour Day 4) 49:30 [3] 8.12 km (6:06 / km)
shoes: Inov8 Oroc 280

Extended Middle. Wasn't feeling so nippy again, so I chilled, and tried to navigate well, didn't care when my 1min man caught me after a bad line to 2, well, he actually only caught me at 4, but I knew I could use him to help my speed a bit, so I decided to stick with him. Went well, I lead for a while, but I messed up 8. Our boulder was covered by fallen trees and just before I got to it, I glanced back and saw a boulder with another control, wasn't mine though, after running back I'd lost 40secs. Thought the Tullinge guy was gone, but turns out he had made a bigger mistake. Had a bad line to 10, so had to re-adjust my route. Went well for a while, but I really struggled up the hill to 15 and 16 and he got away from me, having caught back up with me, and then I had some small mistakes on the short green legs. Missed maybe 90secs total.

This Middle was a race of two halves, not really for me, just that's how the course was planned. First half on the side of a hill, lots of rocks, reasonably detailed and quite a decent amount of climb. I felt quite good, and was happy with my navigation. Struggled to tell which exact boulder controls were on, but getting there was not a problem. On the big uphill climb to 8, I should have pushed up, but I reduced to half walk, half run (Note: Johan did same as me, but Magnus Dewett and Michal both ran their legs). At the top, I was still affected from the hill, and rushed into number 9, not taking a bearing from the road junction, ran to the wrong control, relocated wrong, and lost 2mins, huge on this middle. Then the really easy, fast, paths section to the finish, 2km. I tried to run fast, but I wouldn't do it. I didn't try hard enough I think, but I was slow, and could feel it.

Orienteering (EOC Tour Day 2) 39:42 [3] 5.52 km (7:12 / km)
shoes: Inov8 Oroc 280

I didn't feel fast at all today, and I could tell from the start. This, combined with my general lack of strength recently, was bad. So, I put the focus completely on orienteering, in vague hope that it would make up for my lack of anything good physically. I nailed most of the course, bit of a bad compass on the way to 6, and a similar-ish mistake on 7, bad exit. Slow and scrappy in the undergrowth section, couldn't read my map on the run at all in there. Had trouble understanding the map at 12, but I was right, so I only lost maybe 20secs. My only real mistake was to 14, and it was a rc error. Was iffy about my decision, finally chose and went, but when I hit the top of the ridge, the downhill looked a bit stony, so I said I'd stay high. Upon hitting the top of the hill, I had to run down through an undergrowth section, and running was just impossible. Should have stuck to the original route which may have been worse in itself anyway, but 45secs lost.
To note, Conor was kicking ass at the start of this course!!

Long Distance. Gorgeous map!
Felt ok, it was pouring rain though. Felt like I started quite decently paced, and i nailed 1 so was happy at the start, maybe a little sloppy to 2, but stuff was going well. I orienteered well today, small rc error to 4, stayed low by the lake, but it was really rocky. Nailed most of the next section, even felt pretty snappy at times. But I wasn't, I really wasn't. They were running way faster, I've still obviously got speed problems in the forest, and in general, so that's what I'm planning to work on from now on.
Also missed about 3mins on a sloppy exit from 17 and then when I got near as well. But that was my only real mistake, so technically I guess it was a good race. That's a positive at least.

Feeling better, but wanted to avoid gympa anyway, so I cycled out to BlÄberga with Michal for a run in some nice forest.
It's a really nice area, and it was a peaceful run with Michal. We were going really slow, which was good, because I'm still a bit empty from the sickness, and I had a weird pain on a bone or muscle on my side, just below my hip, it was sore from pretty much start to finish, but was OK to run through. Still I'll have to work on it, I'll rest tomorrow for it.
Noticed Michal had a much springier step, and he almost never looked at the ground. Even while we chatted I sub-consciously found myself looking at where I stepped if it was at all rough, so I made that something to work on. I tried to avoid looking down at all for the majority of the run, and it went pretty well, still an effort though, and funnily my neck was a little tight after. Obviously I'll try work on that now, it not only slows me, but hinders the ability to look around which is necessary in orienteering.

Orienteering 1:12:00 [2] 10.4 km (6:55 / km)
shoes: Inov8 Roiclite 285 - Red

A mix of orienteering and running to and fro. Ran with Johan, did a few controls on a course he made up in Orienteering theory class, went quite OK technically, I think I had 1 mistake, but we were going slow. was a gorgeous day out, and as I was just testing my body out, walked a decent section back to the clubhouse with Johan.

I have to edit the times and distances for this, these are form the top of my head.
