Yoga 55:00 [3]

Clark talked me in to going to Yoga. I need to work on my flexibility, so I finally submitted and went. Everything hurts this AM. No permanent damage, but my body is telling me I bent in ways it didn't expect.

Soccer 55:00 [3]

Seagate league. We won 3-0. I had two assists. We are now tied for first place, after a 2 game disoriented losing streak.

Fitness Ball Workout 25:00 [3]

A lot of squats in this session, which wasted me for the rest of the day. I think the poor sleep, Possum Trot, and 8 hour drive caught up to me. I couldn't convince anyone from the class to take up orienteering after they saw my shredded legs.

Orienteering race (Goat) 2:34:06 [4] **** 10.5 mi (14:41 / mi) +1900ft 12:32 / mi
spiked:20/28c shoes: VJ Falcons

Possum Trot. My finish was good for 12th out of 41 contestants. My first goat event. The following was a bit like the start of an adventure race, but the pace was brutal. My goal was to stick with Tom and Kelly for as long as possible. Between control 3 and 4 I had to mentally reset my goal. The first 6 controls I felt I was only partially on the map. I knew where I was, within a reasonable error margin, but most of my focus was trying not to lose an eye or my footing. I decided to skip controls 8 and 9, and immediately boomed 10. Ian was probably half a control ahead of me leaving 7 and caught up to me at 11, running with Andrei and Jason Plunkett. I stayed with them through 18 at which point Andrei was a ghost (gone...) and Ian/Jason decided to take their first skip. I nav'd the rest of the course solo. Spiking all but 28 and 29, which others seemed to falter on also. My pace slowed once I was solo as I didn't have the benefit of the collaborative effort. The terrain was great for navigation. A lot of bigger features to key off, with intricate detail to keep it challenging.

The entire weekend was a good time spent with the MNOC crew.
