running long 5:28:01 [3] 20.1 mi (16:19 / mi) +5213ft 13:06 / mi

Skyline Traverse variation: S. Boulder Peak, Bear Peak, Flagstaff, from home. Conditions were much less interesting (but much faster) than last time. 3 new trees down across the trails, presumably from the big wind storm. After Bear I hit the Green W ridge 0.5 mile from the summit, but left it out as I didn't feel the need for an extra 500' of climb & descent. What's an extra 500 feet when I'm already doing over 5,000? About 10%. So I turned west down the west ridge trail, to Flagstaff Rd to Long Canyon, to enjoy some runnable downhill before turning off for Flagstaff and the way too steep Flagstaff descent trail. Skipping the Green summit (maybe next time) was the right decision based on how my legs feel right now: kinda abused but nothing in particular is a problem.

Tuesday Apr 17, 2018 #

running 10:00 [2] 1.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Run to the post office, to mail the irs a return (which I paid online) and mail Colorado a couple of checks (for a return I filed online.) Why can't the irs provide a web site to file a return, (like CO,) and why can't CO have an online payment system that doesn't require registering at least 2 business days before you can make a payment (like the irs, when it's working, which it isn't at the moment, so I'm glad I paid last night.)

Monday Apr 16, 2018 #

Still feeling Sat just a little bit. Plan is for a Skyline Traverse Wed or Thu.

Note

6.4 mile hike. Legs feeling yesterday a bit but not too much, so yesterday was probably the right amount of stress.
