running 1:12:08 [2] 7.5 mi (9:37 / mi) +580ft 8:58 / mi

On a section of single track, with a hiker ahead of me approaching someone oncoming, I went way around. And got yelled at, asked not to run 20' off trail because it contributes to trail widening. I replied that 20' (her number; I was probably more like 30' off) was far enough off that there's no way it would create a use track. From her reply, she wasn't convinced. I was pissed so just kept going, but in hindsight it might have been more satisfying to stop & try to educate her, both that going far enough off trail isn't a problem (if I had been 2 feet off the trail she would have had a point) and also that, even if she were correct, obnoxious comments are not an effective approach for converting someone to one's point of view.

Is "trail rage" a growing thing during the pandemic? In the past month I've observed a bunch of altercations, much more than were normal previously. I don't think it's just the increased traffic; people seem grumpier.

100-ish cattle. They're back from wherever they migrated to for the winter. The obnoxious person wasn't yelling at the cattle to stay on the trail, even though they were in the same area I was.

80305 project day 7. That's mostly it for the trails. There are a few easy & moderate days worth of roads left, but many of the further away roads would require road running on a long run, and that's not too likely to happen unless the trails are muddy or closed.
