CrossFit 1:10:00 [4]

long warm-up -- nailed the 10 pull-ups this time around, it's getting easier. also did lots of jump rope work, covering distance, backwards jumping, and backwards double-unders.

main set (8 minutes, max reps): 4 HSPU, 8 kettlebell swing (55lb), 12 GHD sit-ups.

Made it through 5 sets. Today was the first time I've been able to do the HSPUs -- pysched about that! Had to approach the wall face-first and crawl my legs up, but after the session I nailed the first one with the right approach (back to wall). intense work today, but I think I can go up on the kettlebell weight next time -- and also approach the HSPUs the other/right way.

after the session worked on walking handstands, muscle-ups (still can't get them), and claps in pull-ups -- fun stuff.

3 PM

Note

sauna session + some nice wellness time at stockerhof.

CrossFit 1:00:00 [5]

Five rounds for time of:
50 Sumo Deadlift High Pulls: 35lb kettlebell
95 pound Power clean, 12 reps
65 pound Thruster, 15 reps

FUCK that was hard. Did it in 25:54 and collapsed on the floor absolutely trashed. Way fucking hard and way awesome.

Warm-up included the normal stuff plus 15 pull-ups -- which I kipped and nailed finally. Ready for my rest day tomorrow!

Yoga 20:00 [1]

sun salutations, balance poses, headstand -- in morning b4 work
7 PM

CrossFit 50:00 [4]

JTFC, a tough one. 50 wall balls 25 L-pull-ups, 40/20, 30/15, 20/10. Ouch. Started w/20 lb wall ball, dropped to 10 (with one set of 20lb dumbbells). Couldn't do the L pull-ups, so did normal w/ 2 straps followed by 30-second holds on the parallettes. fucking brutal! Need to get stronger w/the pull-ups!

7 PM

CrossFit 1:05:00 [3]

lots of sit-ups, push-ups, squats, pull-ups in an extended warm-up set

5 sets of 5 back squats working up in weight to ...

175lbs x 2 x 10 sets

Last week it was 155 lbs., so 175 is a good improvement. Getting better w/technique so should be able to move up later.

Did some technique work on kipping pull-ups, hand-stands on the wall, and parallettes -- stil got a long way to go, but getting stronger and better balance.

Running (Tire Pull) 1:10:00 [4] 9.5 km (7:22 / km)
ahr:133 max:181 shoes: Nike Free

what a grind! drug the fucking tire back home, people of Zurich clearly think I'm nuts now. Much fun! Chose to run up Heartbreak Hill toward the end -- great tough-as-hell 10 minute interval. Felt pretty good all things considered!
