Road Cycling 3:15:00 [3] 49.0 mi (3:59 / mi)

Not a happy camper on the bike today. Started out great, then wind got out of control strong. Had to ride over 20 directly into it. Back really started acting up. Not a good day overall, but legs felt pretty decent.

Trail Running 35:00 [4] 5.0 mi (7:00 / mi)
shoes: Teva X-1 Evolution

Leg 1 of this cute little multi-sport race, Adventure Quest, held in Wolfeboro, NH. Loved it- super nice people, fun and a cool course. Will do it again.

Leg One: road run to a trail run and back on the road. They claimed it was a 6mile run, but unless I was pulling sub 6's on that trail, it was closer to 5. If that.

Leg Two: Road ride, just over 18 miles, included about 2 miles of dirt road. Dirt road surface quality was good enough that you could do it on your road bike, but did need to slow down on the crazy steep, rutted downhill. Yikes!

Leg Three: Grab your paddle and PFD and run about 1/2 mile in dirt road and trail to the kayak beach. Then you had to go around two bouys and visit the pirate ship to "capture the flag."

Road Cycling 1:05:00 [4] 18.5 mi (3:31 / mi)

Trail Running 1:05:00 [3] 7.0 mi (9:17 / mi)
shoes: Teva X-1

Good day for a trail run. Cool and muddy but not raining anymore. Humid. Lost of orange newts out on the trails. Ran with SH and LB

Trail Run/Speed Hike Combo 2:15:00 [2] 7.5 mi (18:00 / mi)
shoes: Teva X-1

Ran with BTCR from north end of Wapack Trail to Temple then down the trail through Casalis. Felt good and strong on the northern parts and ran the hills strong, but BTCR wasn't feeling as strong and I ended up waiting a lot. Still good ot get out and the pounding coming down from Temple was probably good, too. Buddy The Dog loved it

Road Cycling 1:12:00 [3] 23.0 mi (3:08 / mi)

Rode in the cold and rain and it really sucked, but I got out. Why am I wearing winter xc ski pants at the end of May?!? My toes even hurt as they warmed up in the shower. Yikes!

Road Cycling 55:00 [3] 16.0 mi (3:26 / mi)

A wee bit sore after Sunday still. Easy bike ride at lunch. Just long enough to try out the new saddle and know with absolute certainty that it will never work for me.

Road Cycling 1:10:00 [3] 18.2 mi (3:51 / mi)

Part one of morning training session with SH. Just 20 miles but there were some good hills including one at the end that was very steep on a very broken road. ood thigh burner, standing in the granniest of all gears. All these miles this week and you wold think I could drop a single pound??
Here is the route, http://www.mapmyrun.com/run/united-states/nh/green...

Trail Run/Speed Hike Combo 4:00:00 [3] 14.48 mi (16:34 / mi)
shoes: Teva X-1

Part Deux of morning AR training session. Ran/Speed hiked from North Park to Temple Mountain on the wapack, then down through the Berry Pasture Trail to Casalis and then a combo of Class VI and paved roads back to my house. Very humid. Ran out of water. Didn't bring enough food. This took over an hour more than I anticipated. Exhausted after and knees ached. Here is the route, http://www.mapmyrun.com/route/us/nh/peterborough/4...

Road Cycling 2:30:00 [3] 45.0 mi (3:20 / mi)

Second workout of the day, back on the road bike with The Kid in the afternoon for 45 very hilly miles, including 3 significant climbs. Legs achy from morning and probably still dehydrated, but climbed well. Kid flagged off at the end especially, but he's getting stronger. Here is the route, http://www.mapmyrun.com/run/united-states/nh/keene...

Road Cycling 3:10:00 [3] 59.0 mi (3:13 / mi)

Felt good after a day off. Back hurt on ride a bit, but got through it. Like the new seat much better and can spend most of the time is aero comfortably.

Thursday May 21, 2009 #

Mountain Biking.Trail 1:10:00 [2] 10.0 mi (7:00 / mi)

Active recovery day. Lunch ride with co-workers. Mostly played on the trails-nothing too intense. Perfect.

Trail Running 1:19:00 [3] 7.3 mi (10:49 / mi)
shoes: Teva X-1

My office neighbor has swedish fish. This is bad. Anyway, trail run at Casalis during lunch with SH, LB & BB. Oh, and Sadie the Dog who pooped in the middle of the trail.Nice run. Took a Garmin 405 to test out and should have some data on that later... Getting in some decent mileage but doubt I will ever catch Sony or JayXC. Bastards.

Road Cycling 1:45:00 [2] 31.0 mi (3:23 / mi)
slept:7.0

Easy bike ride with The Kid although he's getting stronger so who knows how long he'll be my recovery ride partner. 31 miles, nothing too crazy but a lot of climbing. Nothing too steep, just long, long stretches. The downhill was pretty wonderful and maybbe, just maybe, worth it.

Trail Running 30:00 [2] 3.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: Teva X-1

This is my "off" day so I took a friend out who is just getting into trail running

Trail Running 1:20:00 [2] 8.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: Teva X-1

Oops! So much for my "off" day. I forgot I had a run scheduled with BTCR. Trail run at Beaver Brook-comfortable pace. Nice place and even found a CP without trying! Apparently there is a permanent O course. Who knows on distance- I will guess 8 miles since we went easy and stopped a lot to figure out where we were. Plus the time I took us off trail to chase the animal I saw... I think it could have been a bear. Or a wild turkey. They look the same at dusk, ya know.

Monday May 18, 2009 #

Trail Running 40:00 [3] 6.0 mi (6:40 / mi)
shoes: Teva X-1

Casalis exploration run with Buddy the Dog. No huge hills. Starte dout tired but was then running pretty well! kept to it 40 minutes. Not really sure about the distance. Ran my usual loop backward and boy did everything look and flow different!

Trail Running 50:00 [2] 3.0 mi (16:40 / mi)
shoes: Teva X-1

Did some extra trail exploration and trail clean-up so i jogged a bit, cleared branches, jogged some more. You get the idea.

Hiking 40:00 [3] 4.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Speed hike up Pack Monadnock auto road with BH

Sunday May 17, 2009 #

Road Cycling 3:00:00 [3] 53.0 mi (3:24 / mi)

Lets call this an active recovery ride. Did the 119 loop that ends with the climb from Wilton up to Miller SP. NO, I did not ride to the top of Pack. That would be silly.

Saturday May 16, 2009 #

Road Cycling 2:00:00 [4] 35.0 mi (3:26 / mi)

Rode with LE so always an ass kicker, even if it's short. I was really tired the next day. Didn't watch the time so that is bogus.

Friday May 15, 2009 #

Trail Running 45:00 [2] 5.0 mi (9:00 / mi)
shoes: Teva X-1

Ran at Casalis again with Buddy the Dog. Love this place and explored across the road. Trails over there in bad shape after the ice storm. I stopped more than I should to do trail clean up.

Wednesday May 13, 2009 #

Trail Running 25:00 [3] 3.0 mi (8:20 / mi)
shoes: Teva X-1

Ran the Whale of a Trail Race 5K course. Mostly flat with great views of the ocean and even a small beach/sand run.

Monday May 11, 2009 #

Trail Running 1:30:00 [2] 7.4 mi (12:10 / mi)
shoes: Teva X-1

Fun exploratory recovery run in Casalis with FJ who was visiting on his way to the FMIX. Took it easy, cleared some tree limbs, got lost... what could be more fun?

Sunday May 10, 2009 #

Road Cycling 1:00:00 [3] 17.0 mi (3:32 / mi)

Warmed up and cool down miles, to and from the TPW TT

Road Cycling 33:00 [5] 10.4 mi (3:10 / mi)

2 x 5.2 mile time trials on the road bike. Wick strong winds to fight-mostly cross winds, unfortunately. Sprint race pace aka snot running down face, mouth open, breathing like a freight train. It was lovely. Honestly, I was going as hard as I could. Big difference in pace depending on direction... 17:40 out and 15:38 on the way back.

Saturday May 9, 2009 #

Road Cycling 4:30:00 [3] 68.0 mi (3:58 / mi)

Road Ride of Day II of TPW. Pretty hilly ride. Rode with Sam C. again. Tired but still felt good at the end. Probably could have pushed the pace higher, but didn't want to get burned out.

Recovery jog/walk 30:00 [3] 2.5 mi (12:00 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Adreneline 8

Just wanted to get off the bike and practice moving a bit. Can't even really call this a brick run. Jogged what I could, walked what I wanted to.... which was a lot.

Friday May 8, 2009 #

Road Cycling 2:20:00 [3] 40.8 mi (3:26 / mi)

Day 1 of TPW. Road ride with Sam C.Moderate intensity.

Road Running 55:00 [3] 7.5 mi (7:20 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Adreneline 8

Pseudo fartlek workout. I say pseudo because I sucked and skipped two of the intervals. My pick-ups weren't even that good. Damn... you gotta work it, sista, if you ever think you're going to get back into tri's!

Wednesday May 6, 2009 #

Road Cycling 40:00 [2] 11.0 mi (3:38 / mi)

All I had time for today was a quick ride along the Hudson while in Soho for work. Cough is getting better, but still sore from the weekend.

Monday May 4, 2009 #

Trail Running 1:04:00 [3] 7.0 mi (9:09 / mi)
shoes: Teva X-1

Slow run, but so sore today. feel like I ran a marathon after Seven Sisters...

Sunday May 3, 2009 #

Trail Running race 2:47:24 [4] 12.0 mi (13:57 / mi)
shoes: Teva X-1

6th female and :52 seconds faster than 5 years ago. 90th out of 244. Of course, it was muddy that year and I was 3rd female. Whatever, I was much happier with this than a week earlier at Muddy Moose. Holy crap, what a sh*t show that was. I was getting sick and it was about a million degrees out. I was in trouble by mile 2.

Road Cycling 2:30:00 [2] 45.0 mi (3:20 / mi)

"Not Such a Great Idea" recovery ride.

Saturday May 2, 2009 #

Road Cycling 1:45:00 [3] 35.0 mi (3:00 / mi)

Honestly not sure what the distance was or how long we rode. Road with Morris and Darby. Good times.
