Trail Running 45:00 [3] 5.5 mi (8:11 / mi)
shoes: Teva X-1 Evolution

One of these days I will actually start using the Garmin to get accurate distances and times. Recovery run but felt pretty darned good after the Saturday run. Ran with RB nd TD. Trail in pretty good shape.

Trail Running 4:00:00 [4] 16.0 mi (15:00 / mi)
shoes: Teva X-1 Evolution

With temps about 15 degrees cooler than last weekend, what a difference. Did the Wapack from Temple Mntn to the southern end, skipping the first 5 rugged miles but plenty of rugged terrain between har and thar. Ran with RB, BB, and TD. Had no problem hydrating/fueling this time and plenty of energy right to the end. Ran more of Mt. Watatic than ever- only walked a single steep, short rocky section. Good confidence boost after last week.

Trail Running 1:10:00 [2] 7.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Easy trail run as I was feeling a bit tired. Ran into neighbor on the trail who I made the mistake of stopping to say hello. He bored me for nearly 15 minutes with outrageous propoganda tied to his idiotic political views. I never was much of a fan of Kool-ade. What a waste of time. and daylight. The run was nice once I got going again. Trail in pretty decent shape.

Trail Running 45:00 [3] *** 5.0 mi (9:00 / mi)
shoes: Teva X-1 Evolution

Ran "the loop" with RB and TD. Ran into Lynn (LR) along the way. She turned around and joined us. Started out VERY fatigued in the legs and even let myself walk up the first steep pitch of Sayer's Accent, but started to warm out of it and by the halfway point was moving at least as fast, if not faster, than my normal pace on the loop. Found a really cool patina'ed copper gas tank(?) in the woods. Can figure out what to do with it, so I will email Martha Stewart later and ask for ideas.

Trail Running 5:30:00 [4] **** 21.0 mi (15:43 / mi)
shoes: Teva X-1 Evolution

Ran the Wapack from Greenfield trailhead to Sharon and back with RB, BB, SH, LR and TD. Lost RB early on when he slipped by Brook at the top of Pack- he went all the way to Watick where I picked him up after. The rest of us went to Sharon which by itself (just over 10 miles) was a solid effort and put a hurt on me! I walked many more of the hills back that I would like to admit- was also bonking. Was out of water so even though I had food I really couldn't eat much. Should have left water hidden in Sharon. Was as slow trudge back made more difficult when I lost Boca in the trail crowds (I have never seen so many people hiking there!) going back up Pack Monadnock. He got confused with all the people and turned back to find me. I finally found him almost halfway back down pack then had to go back up. That has never happened so a learning for me to keep a closer eye on him in the crowds. Just so glad he didn't go all the way home. We both slept very well last night. Calves are a little sore today, also quads but not too bad.

Trail Running 1:05:00 [3] *** 11.0 mi (5:55 / mi)
shoes: Teva X-1 Evolution

First run on the Greenfield trails without spikes. Yahoo! The Lovey Dovey trail is much more runnable since being cleaned up but oh so wet! Ran with RB and TD in a single long sleeve that proved almost too warm. Went to the Playground and Island Stream trails and back. Nice medium pace. RB moved the flotsamed bridge back into place. I have no idea how he does it. Brute. Voodoo Hill almost completely clear of snow and ice. Great run.

Trail Running 1:35:00 [2] ** 10.0 mi (9:30 / mi)

Wasn't feeling very motivated so did a longish (for midweek) run at a super easy pace on the trails by my house with TD (Boca-Trail Dog). very light misting rain and stepped around three fresh piles of moose droppings on the loop. They must be on the move in this warm weather! No sighting, alas. Just a couple tiny ice patches hanging on to the bitter end. A lovely quiet night in the woods.

Trail Running 1:10:00 [3] 7.5 mi (9:20 / mi)

Ran with Brandon at lunch. First time I have done the Lunch Loop this year. Some ice out there, mud and slushy snow, but mostly in pretty good shape. hard to complai this time of year. Fifth day in a row running so a wee bit tired. Will try to bike tomorrow?

Trail Running 50:00 [3] 5.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: Ice Spikes/Salomons

Did the loop, half by headlamp with RB and TD. A little more dirt every day. Getting there!

Porcupines are out and TD is in full spring fever, critter hunting mode. No needlenose pliers needed tonight thank goodness, but it was close.

For RB's birthday I worked on the connector trail he built last year out his backdoor. Cut thru two fallen trees (small ones), cut some small stumps, cleared the branches and cut out some small trees that were just in the way. It is pretty gosh darned runnable now!

Trail Running 1:30:00 [3] 8.0 mi (11:15 / mi)
shoes: Ice Spikes/Salomons

RB, TD and I did a run down at Leominster State Park. Barly andy icy spots to speak of. Very nice. Crazy trail map makes you think you are lost have the time. We were on a trail that looks like it was modeled after a rollercoaster- thought we must be on something else as it was shown as a starightline on the map. Nope. We were on the trail we thought. Nice area but a little lacking in.... je ne sais quoi. Oh well, we were running on dirt!

Trail Running 50:00 [3] 5.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: Ice Spikes/Salomons

Bummer. Only time to do The Loop again. Ran with RB and TD. Felt pretty good early in the run- leg turnover getting better. Still some icy spots out there, but getting to see more and more dirt all the time.

Lots of slushy snow and icy spots. Won't be long now...

Road Running 1:03:00 [3] 6.72 mi (9:22 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Adreneline 8

TFH run with SH. Still kind of dragging today, but I know the road running is good for me. Haven't eaten meat in at least 6 weeks and wondering if I might not be getting enough protein. Should look into that I suppose...

Ice Road Truckin' err Running 1:30:00 [3] 9.1 mi (9:53 / mi)

Road Running 50:00 [3] 5.15 mi (9:43 / mi)
shoes: Ice Spikes/Salomons

A busy week between work and family meant three days off in a row. This did nothing for my training and I slogged through the weekend runs starting with this one.

BTW- I have not been very good about timing training this year so all times are apx.
