Park Series (Macquarie College) 31:22 [4] *** 2.1 km (14:56 / km)
spiked:24/27c shoes: grey/white

* 3 not spiked=poor route choice.
Club presentations at Macquarie College and courses set by sal. While really wanting to do the Long, I opted for the Middle as my mind wasn't fully switched on. Between 1 and 2 I was terrible, having done no warm up at all. Quick out of the blocks and clean until 10 with a little stammer with that pivot control; 10-11 was clearly for us the route choice leg and I think I chose poorly, hesitating at the start then choosing the canopy route and then taking the "just" lower route - maybe going via the carpark/road all the way would have been better. Clean and back in control again 11-17 then a bit of a stutter in choice out of 17 to18 but cleaned it up. Back to pivot and had trouble finding the line back to 19 on the map. 19-25 was the cleanest section and getting into a rhythm. But the simplest "something wrong" at 25 which made not one iota of difference (ie description said top of stair and flag was at bottom - all of 5 stairs and not an issue) and I stupidly did a 180 and headed under canopy whereas I should have gone past tennis courts (ie high fence) Ran 60m all the time saying this is wrong! this is wrong I returned to #25 and orientated my map then realised I'd done a 180. Haven't often done that! Grump! Then so unsettled i picked the most useless route to #27 by going left rather than right - this time I did go under big canopy. It hadn't been a case of skipping a control, purely wrong way.
Such an enjoyable course. sal did a fantastic job. I Think I'm getting to satiation point after 20 controls. Need to work on that length/number of controls and planning.
Beaut afternoon, but missed rockman. Cassie shocked at her ONSW Rookie of the Year. Lots of prizes for the kids; brilliant BBQ and extras. Showing off all our club trophies - State and National - yep we had a great
year. Trophies I made looked good and recipients pleased.
