Event (Stanford Scrubs - NOY 5) 59:00 [3]

My favourite weather for events (except for Sprints) so was happy to go out. Totally stuffed #1, but the adage Fail to plan = plan to fail rang true. Should have wimped out and taken the track option but NO onward and wayward, coming out near the road - that's funny! Not much in the way of real problems for the remainder, though was pretty slow but careful. Tracks were treacherously clayey and slippery so did quite a lot of nordic along them. Mostly light rain but heavier near the end and I didn't put any effort into the finish split. Rather pleased with #3 which was in the very vague territory. Liked the butterfly style and was actually surprised when I got back and there was just the last control to go - wanted more.

exploring (Boomerang Park) 45:00 [1]

Map checking for courses for Raymond Terrace Schools Training Day. Park little changed, rather sloshy in parts. But "running true to type" even in seemingly adults of the area who gathered some scattered small branches into a pile and lit a fire then drove off - with their 3 kids in the van having loaded their picnic chairs and picnic goods into the van previously. The fire only obvious when they were leaving. Quite strange!
3 PM

Smorgasbord 50:00 [3]

25 hills cycle; 5 elliptical; 5 nordic (new toy at gym);15 strength (more new toys)
gym date with junior junior who has lost 5 kg over 2 months with about another 5-8 to go by Christmas.

gym class (Body Pump) 1:00:00 [4]

Yeah well I woke up didn't I so off to the gym. Upped chest and triceps but took it easy on biceps. Noticed a definite difference in lunges between legs. I had suspected so previously but today was very noticeable. Need to stretch toes tonight - bit naughty recently.

gym class (Cross Training) 1:00:00 [5]

Left nothing - or nothing left: either way - tough session.

exploring 1:30:00 [1]

Only logging 90 mins as part of the 5 hour exploration of Vivid Sydney trip with rockman and junior. Mostly strolling and gazing but a few quick sections trying to keep up with the long legged and faster moving family members. Walked from Central via World Square and Chinatown (for an early Japanese meal for tea while sun set and got us to the dark sky time) Beautiful evening around the harbour. Caught ferry around harbour too for a different view, plus saved a bit of dead walking. Great light shows, but noted with increase in number of exhibits that there was some repetition. A little disappointed in the Opera House section - but looking at rockman's photos today I might have been a bit harsh. Loved a couple of exhibits in particular. Late train home - with a very loud calling of each station (couldn't miss them) and to sleep after 3am Friday. The gym may be problemmatic "tomorrow".

gym class (Shape and Tone) 45:00 [3]

Bec II gave her first full class - she is great and so much more confidence now - filling in for Bec I.
Lots of cardio, moderate amount of strength. Step section was super fast. Good class - with a good block length - didn't leave me wanting more.
Time short due to microphone failure - must be the season - both gyms struggling.
4 PM

gym class (Step Up and Legs Go) 55:00 [3]

Tried hard but felt distracted at times. Managed to do a "faultless" routine - sounds grand.

Bike 16:00 [3]

Rain ensured lots of people at the gym hence few bikes available and those that were fell into either not working x2 or new and no one can yet work them out. Persevered for a while with a new one but then relented and just cycled rather than do Cycle Ints. Wasn't much interested anyway.

gym class (Body Pump) 1:00:00 [3]

Usual instructor replaced by a very good substitute. Gave clear indications of the intensity of each track so we knew exactly when to up the weights or not. Felt like I achieved something today.
