Event (NOY - ? Nice Valley) 1:29:59 [4] 3.4 km (26:28 / km) +125m 22:21 / km

I really like this map - it is not like any other we have around here. It is steep, it is big rock, it is deep green glen and it isn't nasty. Course setter is wiley and I never quite feel I know what he is going to throw at me next so it is a very enjoyable challenge.
Stuffed #1 and #2 (that one I can't figure out, until I realise I travel too far along the track but recognise that the rock i want is on a different side of the w/c). But MessEng is a silly and follows me - never do that!!! Lots of people have fun with #1 - up the steep incline we can wobble lots! Deliberately went to #3 via #6, stopped too early for #4 but that was THE most picturesque part so it was worth dallying here. Pleased with 5,6, and route choice around to #7 though rockman tells me it was much clearer over the top. #8 was a bit scarey - down, down then a bit up but can't figure out where the dual w/cs were - Caroline found them too. Rest were straight forward but I was very wayward on #9 and the time tells the story. I would have liked to have done the longer course but there are only so many daylight hours in a day. Effort/intensity 4 on the uphill sections. Knees a bit grumbly about downhill. Good challenging courses - not tricky for once. Thanks to ID. After event socialising - Jockeying for partners for next weekend's event - poor LH, she's drawn the short straw with me.
Edit: looking at splits - yes rockman I'll take my route to #7 - relative fastest on whole course.

gym class (Body Sculpt) 1:05:00 [5]

100s week - done in pairs. Except my partner can't count and forced us to do 120s instead!!!.So I also missed out on the first run because we didn't have time. UGH!!!! She also was complaining of being exhausted - basically because she didn't do the alternative exercise when it was her turn and just kept going on the original, saying she didn't know which was which. She's not a machine - good on jumps but weak elsewhere. I opted out of the 20s rounds of jumping on and off the stage - a height of about 600mm and did step ups as a replacement.Oooh recipe for disaster.
July 1 is next exciting installment - 150s. I'm going to find a threesome - ditch my partner. But despite all my whinging - I did really well and enjoyed it - and another Intensity 5 for the week.

gym class (CrossTrainer ) 1:00:00 [5]

General assessment was this was the toughest class ever experienced. Trainer going to Africa shortly to do her annual 80km run so I think we're all in it together. Felt like I really achieved something today - these classes are so varied and interesting - just love them.

gym class (Shape and Tone) 45:00 [3]

Good solid class, but had to leave before stretching as had to get to school (report of major traffic delays - 3 km at Hexham - as I went into gym led me to hope it wasn't a serious accident and that it would all be cleared away by 10:30 - it was).

gym class (Body Pump) 1:00:00 [3]

Pretty solid in a few tracks - possibly warranting a 3.5 intensity.
My (last year's) massage therapist was behind me during the class - nice to catch up. She commented that I looked like I needed a massage - subtle???So I booked in for next week.
