stretching 5:00 [1]

It's a start! Calf felt really good afterwards. Seem more inclined to do this when it is raining - maybe stuck indoors reminds me of being injured?
9 AM

gym class (Body Pump) 1:00:00 [3]

Wasn't very enthusiastic about going today - still tired but think I can get back on track by the end of the week. I find one big sleep in doesn't address the issue.
I didn't attempt any increase in weights but am assessing which area will be the next target. Did manage all pushups full fours.
5 PM

walking 1:00:00 [1]

Around Maitland field checking with rockman in drizzle. So quiet in the Levee area.

gym class (Cross Trainer) 1:00:00 [5]

Made a bit of an error by eating breakfast within 90 min of class start. That'll work on a rainy day but never on a fine day. So first section run was a horror - feeling really awful and that was after a solid warm up. Plus legs were really leaden.
Found yet another partner and did 10-4-10 pyramids on squat jumps and squats then run; intermediate cardio; 10-4-10 pyramids lunges then run; intermediate cardio; 10-4-10 pyramids heel raises (what a joke for me) deep squats and final run. Last leg session - which I have wanted to do for ages but this gym seems to not rate them highly was leg raises and clams etc - really tough but surprised I could manage after so long at not doing them.
Couldn't bring myself to do the stretching at the end ad a few of us just kept circling the room and drinking. Probably the hardest session I've done when I've been reasonably fit. Hope I feel good this afternoon.

Note

Volunteering at Parkrun Callaghan. Interesting but very quiet compared with Newy's comparable job. rockman saved the day!
11 AM

walking 35:00 [1]

Map checking and control site picking at Brickworks for CATI Gala Day in 2 weeks time. Small changes to Park - mostly cosmetic. What a great area for schools. Hot and glary making it a little unpleasant. No one in the Park at all.
2 PM

walking 4:30:00 [1]

Long day in the field checking control sites and ruling out clues. A really complicated area for Street event. Started drizzling on stepping out into the area - at least it wasn't stormy. Heat down and glare likewise. Some cool and quirky clues in store for a couple of weeks time.

gym class (Cross Fit Training) 1:00:00 [5]

Fill in for Body Sculpt will that instructor is in Vanuatu. Not 1 burpee so we did a ceremonial one at the end during warm down and stretch.
After extended warm up did some upper body pyramid (10-9-8-), then with partner while one ran the other did rounds of 10 upper body - 2 repeats bicep and Indian Giver. Same deal again for next round except triceps extensions and another 2 repeats; same deal again except back and squat jumps (which I modified to just deep squats - done enough high impact already. Last run and stairs then abs - oh killer!!!
Tough tough day - but in a good way. Thinking tomorrow not running may be a good thing. Knees a bit tender.

street run (Rathmines) 46:50 [4] 5.7 km (8:13 / km)
shoes: bright pink

Saved the indecision phase until I was actually on the course. Andrew H worried me by saying he couldn't find a good route - for him I suppose. Mine was quite simple.
S-1P-1A-3E-1S-3H-2B-3G-1D-3A-2C-1E-1R-2M-2A-2D-F
Some of the possibilities of 2A-1M-2D or 2A-1B-2D were contingencies. But had trouble with many of the pole questions - 1P I was ages, though I knew I was in the right spot; also 1S and 3H likewise. 2D was very frustrating visiting 3 sides of tennis court when circle didn't quite match up, but I certainly provided some entertainment for Jack and Anita as I ran wildly around and around losing most likely the 1:50 I was late - or a good part of that time. Pleased that original plan was realistic and distance covered, especially given hesitancy at power poles and in bush for 2B - stopped a few times thinking I should be there.
Lovely temp; good conditions and surprisingly no mossies. Chatted afterwards with Emily, Rob, Caroline and Peter.
Almost got the requisite 50% Alex, but he was late as was I, but mine was more telling that his. Just over 5/8 MessEng - gotta hope he doesn't get his glasses soon otherwise he will be able to see where he's going.
